I would like to take the time to get excited for 2009 games.

I bet there are some goodies that are oft overlooked.

games who's release dates aren't yet set for a quarter recieved end of the year dates, please note this is the apparent hype here on system wars not the expected scores.

GT5 Q1?

Bayonetta and FFXIII will be the 09 hype for me since FFXIII is coming exclusively for the PS3 in Japan.

Metroid: Other M

Zelda Wii (could happen)

Fallout: New Vegas

Crackdown 2

Splinter Cell: Conviction

Half Life 2: Episode 3

Starcraft 2

Left 4 Dead 3 (just kidding =p)

Starcraft2, Diablo 3, Mass effect 2, God of War 3, Alan Wake, Bayonetta, Crackdown 2, Halo Reach, Mechwarrior, Starwars TOR(hopefully), Metroid the other M, Mario Galaxy 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.

Although it hasn't been announced, you could assume Gears of War 3 or atleast some sort of Gears of War title will be released in 2010. Also a new Resistance title should be out in late 2010.
