Absoultely insane. A true evolution of MGS as we know it, while retaining the same MGS that we love.

Firstly, they have stated many times it was running on a PC. Secondly, if it can already run on a PC, why not also release it for PC at a staggered date (if they think piracy will kill it). That's just free money asking to be had, especially if they release it on steam. :)[QUOTE="killa4lyfe"][QUOTE="Ironbash"]Console only confirmedRyuRanVII
Indeed. Also, Konami is bringing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 to PC.
Konami is making castlevania and publishing it, KojiPro is making MGS:GZ and konami is publishing, big difference.Don't be ridiculous. Both consoles can't handle this game. Guaranteed to look like crap on both consoles. This needs to be next gen or PC only.[QUOTE="todd2r_Partdeux"][QUOTE="GamerwillzPS"]
The graphics!
I think the X360 is gonna melt rendering this.
kalipekona
Those graphics are beyond anything seen in current generation games. I have a very hard time believing that it will look nearly that good on the PS3 or 360.
I can't believe people aren't freaking out more about the graphics. This makes The Last of Us or Gears of War 3 look primitive.
Umm... no. It looks great but definitely a console game.Firstly, they have stated many times it was running on a PC. I mean, if the game really ends up looking like this on current consoles, that is very commendable, but I must say, I saw much, much better things on the PC already...
Oh, and it'd be awesome if the 360 version ended up looking slightly better than the PS3 version, imagine the meltdown! :P

Konami is making castlevania and publishing it, KojiPro is making MGS:GZ and konami is publishing, big difference.Still, it shows that Japanese publishers have become increasingly interested in the PC platform over the years. I think the costs of making something with this much detail and realism will necessitate that they release it on as many platforms as possible to recoup those costs. Besides, almost everything is going multiplatform these days. Only a few games (mostly first party games) remain exclusive.

I agree, its good because many JRPGs are still a struggle to find. This transition will hopefully make things better.Am I the only one not impressed by visuals?

I definitely don't agree with you. I am a PC gamer first and foremost and I always argue for the graphical superiority of the PC over the consoles, but this truly does look much better than any game released thus far. Crysis, Crysis 2, Battlefield 3, Metro 2033, The Witcher 2....all of these games on the PC blow away any current console game, but none of them hold a candle to the MGS Ground Zeroes footage.
That said, I don't believe that it is possible for this game to look that good on current generation consoles. It's being played on a PC. Until I see actual console footage looking that good I won't believe it.

All games run on the pc before they are transferred to the consoles. Early consoles are also simply custom made pc's in a box. Kojima proved this in 2008 with mgs4 and will do so again. Is their a youtube link for this video yet?[QUOTE="Gue1"]

I know that. I am not saying that the fact of it being played on a PC is proof that it will be released for the PC. What I am saying is that I am highly skeptical that it will look that good on current generation consoles.
MGS4 is a perfect example of this. The final game didn't look nearly as good as the original demo footage led us to believe.

My impressions come from watching the video in 1080p+ fullscreen, and I don't know, I saw much better faces and rain effects in many other PC games, and the ground near the end of the trailer looked bad, oversaturated with bloom, like it's poured with vaseline. Doesn't look naturally wet...
Honestly, I think this is perfectly doable on current consoles, there'll probably be some noticeable drop in image quality (resolution!), but it's still doable.
I do think it'd be awesome if it got released on the PC, though, I love MGS, but not for the graphics, but for the awesome goofy storyline, and for the interesting and flexible gameplay :)
It's Big Boss. He has an eyepatch Solid Snake doesn't have one. It is supposed to take place after Peace Walker but before Metal Gear.dat doesn't look like solid snake to me, is that the boss?

There isn't really that much impressive other than amazing particle effects and surface shaders. I'd say God of war 3 looks on par or even better in cases. Ironbash
You're delusional. God of War 3 isn't even close to being the best looking current generation game, let alone challenge this game. The texture resolution for one thing is many times greater in this demo footage than what we see in God of War 3. Everything else, from lighting to advanced post-processing effects, are also of a much higher quality in this Metal Gear Solid game than in God of War 3. It's not even comparable. You might as well compare God of War 1 to MGS4. Your comment is silly.

It's a bit difficult to compare the visuals of GOW, a game which is very linear and perhaps easier to optimize than to MGS:GZ which is open world and much more prone to weaker fidelity on it's large scale.
I will say the lighting is far better in this game so far than anything I've ever seen.

The game looked next generation in the first 1 min, I had this feeling when I watched the watching dogs for the first time ... then it was turning towards the current generation at some points then up again .... pretty impressive but not as impressive as the watching dogs which was getting better and better towards the end.
Meh, looks nice and i'm interested in it, but the problem is that I don't know the full story of MG(S). MGS4 had alot cutscenes where I could not follow the story of it, wasn't even interested in the story anyway.
I will buy this one if it has much more less cutscenes. Or atleast make it easier for the new people to understand the story.

Yeah because this looks bad.I didn't say it looks bad. I said that it isn't up to the level of some of the more graphically intensive games like Uncharted 3, Gears of War 3, or Crysis 2. People that say otherwise reveal that they don't really understand much about graphics tech.
Here is a more representative shot:
Good artwork, competent graphics tech, and interesting use of scale makes for a nice looking game, but it is not in any way close to what they have shown of MGS: Ground Zeroes.

That's correct, overally, GoW3 does have some nice visuals, but upon closer inspection, you'll notice many inconsistencies and low-res textures.
As you said, visuals are well-designed when you're looking at the game in motion, but stop and take a look around, and things stop being so impressive in many levels:
It's a real shame if this is just for the consoles. Because you can bet it will look good but not to the level the PC could push it to get it looking terrific but also be crystal clear and fluid too. Visuals like that are gonna be butched by console resolution limitations
