It was fun and hope Sega will show more about the new Sonic game at E3.

So what should we expect? Personally, I would like to see the next Sonic movie teaser.

Sonic generations remaster and new 2D Sonic would be amazing.

Couldn't care less about anything Sonic related tbh. Not too sure why people still care about this franchise.

Very excited about this one, hoping they do a remake of Sonic Adventure.

@wonderwinner: Yeah, that will be awesome. There have been rumors of remastering Sonic Generations and Colors, and many fans want Sonic Mania 2.

30th anniversary already?! Gosh, times flies. Felt it was Sonic's 25th anniversary 2-3 years ago.

Sonic Mania 2 could be cool.

I've wanted them to take a shot at a new Adventure for a while ... but it (and anything that isn't Mania 2) would probably suck.

A stand alone Generations remaster? Sounds kinda dumb... you can get it for < less then $5 on pc pretty regularly. Would need to include Colors as well.

Not really that big of a Sonic fan myself but I find some of the games ok. Will probably just checkout the highlights of this if anything catches my interest. There’ll probably be some kind of collection of Sonic games packaged together.

I think it's fair to hope for it. Sonic Team has had about four years since Sonic Forces (2017). So they should show something big, new or remake.

I think you might be getting your hopes up, because it was a 4 year gap between Lost World and Forces too. I'm expecting a Colors remaster with an outside chance of Heroes and Unleashed getting similar treatment. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we get anything based on Mania and/or Adventure.

Given Sony has a State of Play set for same day, my guess is Sega is basically going to make this about exclusives going to PS5.

Best case scenario is a follow up to Sonic Mania and a trailer for the Sonic 2 movie.

Yeah, I understand your point and, if so, hope Sega will not sell those remasters at full price with limited time like the Big N. However, I also think it's likely that Sega has outsourced remastering of past games such as Colors to other companies, and Sonic Team is working on another big project (new or remake). I'm kinda optimistic, but generally speaking, Sega celebrating Sonic's 35th anniversary needs to have something big. Regarding the development time, I think they can extend it to 2022 if 4 years is not enough.

Oh, there's no way they pull a Nintendo scam. I'm thinking it'd be a three game bundle of Heroes, Colors, and Unleashed at $40. That, or maybe it could be a $20-$40 Colors remaster (done by SEGA EU) and the rumored Sonic 1-3 & Knuckles Taxman remake collection at $20 as well.

For the new 3D game, it'll probably release in 2022 and coincide with the movie or Sonic Prime on Netflix, but my guess is as good as anyone's on what it could be. I do think there's more of a likely chance that it'd be a Generations 2, or even a Forces 2, rather than an Adventure remake or sequel however. I want it to be a big budgeted AAA experience as well, but SEGA has been very frugal with Sonic over the last decade, so I'm not counting on it.

Sonic games are a mess with good, great and downright awful but I am psyched. 😁

I always get hyped for a new Sonic game announcement, even though the games tend to be hit or miss... Really hoping for Sonic Adventure 3. :)

Truer words have never been spoken. Sonic has more success on the big screen now than in video games. There has never been a good 3D Sonic game, and the 2D ones are overrated.

Yeah, the show was quick but at least we got Sonic Colors, Sonic Origins, and a new Sonic game from Sonic Team as well as some weird collaborations with an Olympic game and Two Point Hospital. I say that was fun.

So I guess I was right with the Colors remaster and Sonic 1-3 & Knuckles + CD Taxman collection (though 3 & Knuckles looks like the same old copy and pasted port).

The 3D game seems like it's going to be something new, and they're using a new design for Sonic as well.

Sonic Colours was a great game. But I wish we had gotten more info on the new game.

Ehh, Sonic has had a few good years as of late. Barring Forces, that is.

I might do the Origins Collection when I see it drop to $10. I have all these on my Retro Pi so there's almost no reason for me to buy them again.

If gamers have the will and patience, they can buy games at a reasonable price if they just wait until they go down in price. The same goes with any product, whether it is a car or a smartphone.

I never play Sonic Colors so this will be my day one purchase on PC...don't care about being EGS.

@sakaixx: You're welcome. These four are the main announcements, but there's also information about a Sonic Netflix show, updates on ongoing games, and some crossovers.

I played Sonic Colors on Wii about 10 years ago. In my memory, it's one of the better Sonic games, very fast paced, fun, with the great soundtrack. As for the new Sonic game, I hope Sonic Team to listen to the criticisms of Sonic Forces and fix the problems with the next one.

I was kind of hoping that they were going to release a sequel to Sonic Mania.
