Thuway on GAF: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=73213046&postcount=1835
Backed up by quite a few other "insiders" that have proven to have accurate information in the past.
They have also been known to be wrong and ultimately it's anonymous dudes on a forum, but they have been reliable in the past, take it for what it's worth.
People will either choose to belive Leadbetter's sources or GAF insiders depending on which console they want to "win". I suspect this will rumble on until Sony come out and make a definitive statement, most likely at Gamescom.
Sony won't make a definitive statement because they don't want to give away any competitive advantage. If it really is 6gb of RAM and someone misquoted them with it as 4.5, thus making MS not feel the need to scale back their RAM OS allocation, why show your hand? that said, 4gb and 5gb on both systems is an excessive amount to begin with Sony have been pretty smart about playing the hype game so far, it would make sense for them to let this play out for the next month and then announce at Gamescom that 6GB is available to devs. Forums go into meltdown, fanboys proclaim ownage etc. Ironically they wouldn't have that possibility if the 4.5GB story hadn't come out in the first place. Announcing 6GB's when the assumption was 7GB's would have been a dampener, but they have the opportunity to use this to their advantage if they so choose. But yeah, 4.5, 5.5, 6, 7 doesn't really matter, RAM isn't going to be a bottleneck for either console any time soon.
