@KBFloYd: Ghosts and blops 2 released on Wii u, which was a failed console, switch is huge success. Big difference.
@KBFloYd: Of course. All 2k games have been bad on switch, WWE is easily the worst port. It would also help if they released same day and didn't charge full price longer than the other platforms. The portability of the switch would add something to those titles the other consoles simply couldnt.
diagree,
playstation built its brand on 3rd party. nintendo built its brand on 1st party. The sales reflect that.

Definitely not.
PS1 had tons of first and third party exclusives. Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Tekken, Tomb Raider, Gran Turismo, Syphon Filter, Resident Evil, Silent Hill...majority of the games in those franchises were not on Sega or Nintendo with some of them being only on Playstation the entire 90s.
@jcrame10: Ye dont think we've gotten official numbers for Bloodborne for some time, that game deserved to sell more however, easily my top game on ps followed by GoW
I would imagine it's currently somewhere between 3 and 4 million sold today.

Right and all those game were from 3rd party and thats why they are all on xbox and nintendo (some) now too.
You could say they were "timed" exclusives for sony.

Even if you get official numbers for Bloodborne it will not sell as much as GOW did in its first month alone. Even the multiplat games of that type don't come close. I personally think it deserve to as well but 3mill seems like the max for the type of game it is. The good thing is those games are budgeted accordingly to be considered a success at those numbers. Its just not as accessible as GOW.
@KBFloYd: Just explaining why they're as popular as they are. Many people, me included, started with Nintendo games. So you have ease of access and nostalgia to go with the quality. This is Nintendo exclusives sales triforce. I also ask because you seem to have a negative opinion on casual titles which is wierd to me since you like Nintendo as much as you do.

the word casual for gamers is seen as a derogatory word. So i use it in that sense. I'm just saying ps4 is built on casuals just like nintendo.
@KBFloYd: back then hardware was more differentiated. The RPG publishers all went to Sony over Nintendo because of the space on the CDs over cartridges.
Now that hardware is more similar, Rockstar/Square/Capcom/Namco put their franchises on other platforms.
Don’t forget street fighter and final fantasy were basically exclusive to Nintendo before the PS1 when they jumped to Sony.

i disagree on the reason they went to sony. i dont believe the cd/cartridge thing was the main reason. but thats for another conversation.
@KBFloYd: I think they do sell. Do they sell as well as Nintendo? No. But they dont have the loyal nostalgic fanbase like Nintendo does. I don't say nostalgia as a negative either, because if the quality wasn't up to snuff the nostalgia wouldn't be there. I dont think Sony titles have the universal appeal that Nintendo has either. People that like Persona or Bloodborne won't necessarily enjoy something like Uncharted or GoW.
@KBFloYd: Square has said FF7 became a PS exclusive even when FF 1-6 were all on Nintendo platforms because Nintendo stuck with cartridges
right some of the developers went to sony for that reason. but i mean street fighter 3rd strike couldnt run on the n64? megaman? castlevania? marvel vs capcom?
those games could have easily been on nintendo. i think sony did some dealings behind the scene imo
not ashamed to admit it

right but a console with 100million selling less than a console with 30million? you got to wonder what all those people are buying instead of spiderman and god of war eh?
the discrepency is quite big. which is why the "too many games" reason dont work for me.
@KBFloYd: Spiderman has been doing good tho, we dont know what GoW is at. Not All Nintendo exclusives sell gangbusters either. SMT, Metroid, Fire Emblem, Donkey Kong etc..
good for the install base? no
good compared to the other consoles with 30million(nintendo)/40million (xbox) ? yes
@KBFloYd: What? That doesn't make any sense. I feel like you consider stuff like Bayonetta, SMT, Donkey Kong etc... Failures because of attach rate. That's not how it works.
those games under performed. did they make a profit? maybe... but developers all hope to have phenomenon type game. to have the next pokemon go, GTA or wii sports or call of duty, halo, mario kart. thats the dream for developers,
@KBFloYd: mega man and castelvania had games on n64 though didn’t they?
well mainline megaman wasnt. just a spin off
forgot about castlevania. yea it got a 3d game and ps1 got a 2D game.
street fighter was one of the biggest games around back then and to have it skip nintendo for no reason?
@KBFloYd: lol donkey Kong is definitley not a failure....those games sell millions and are really popular and I bet they have a low budget- no 3D rendering, no voice acting, no motion capture
failure didnt come out of my mouth. it was fedor. i said underperformed. which they did.
@KBFloYd: I don't think your math is correct. Regardless of your cocksure attitude on the matter, Sony exclusives are profitable and helping move consoles. Thats all that matters.
it actually does matter. in fanboy wars which is what we are having and what this forum is about.
@watercrack445: How many platforms battlefield is on?
PC, Xbox One, PS4
I thought you knew?
Are they really considered low sales for exclusives, though?
Well yeah, as just about every one is watching them for free on YouTube :(
Ok. So how much of those exclusives have to be sold to be considered good?
By SW standards, and with the way cows talk these games up with scores, and exclusives being the reason they bought a PS4. I would say 50 million minimum.

lol for each exclusive!!?

Yeah man its the SW way, the more cows pump them up the more they need to sell to be considered successful, just the law of the land.
Cows should stop talking about these games all the time and start buying them, and indeed watching them, oh that's right YouTube still exists my bad lol.
System Wars is the only place on the internet where people don't understand that a console with way more quality third party games to choose from will have less attachment ratio for its exclusives. People buy PS4s to play big 3rd party games as well as Sony's games so Sony's games have more to compete against with. Sony also releases a large quantity of exclusives so their sales are pretty spread apart. In contrast, hardly anyone buys a Switch to play third party games and Nintendo's 1st party release output isn't as much as Sony's so naturally their games will have a higher attachment ratio. Only looking at Sony's high hardware sales and expecting their exclusives attachment ratio to be the same as Nintendo's is stupid and defies logic.
and none of these numbers are official. counting on bullshit and fanboy math to guess sales.
Stupid piece of shit sony cant even give out numbers for their games.
the reason? because they dont want nintendo to look better than them. that has to be it.
Lol, Sony doesn't care about Nintendo, it's irrelevant.
PSN is bigger than Nintendo alone. LMFAO!

right and they dont want to look stupid and lose the advantage.
