As long as Ninty doesn't repeat the same BS they did with 3D Land (duplicate levels), I'd be fine with it.Â

I am so impressed it makes me thinka bit more highly of Nintendo and the WiiU. Now I need to see a trailer of Smash Bros and DKCRTF that make me feel the same way. even with all this though, I REALLY want a new Zelda Nintendo...Please? now?

Speaking of Zelda: Where is all of the A Link Between Worlds hype? Now that is switching up a formula, and hopefully making the franchise feel fresh even to the most doubtful people.
Also, while typing this I realized (A) Link Between Worlds doesn't really work for sentence structure. I'll probably just call it Between Worlds.
I honestly cannot tell yet if I like the change or not. Â Don't get me wrong, it is very interesting and I am happy to see them playing around with the formula and making this feel different from ALTTP. Â WIth that said, I know so many Zelda haters have bashed it's linear storyline and such, but I am not sure this is the answer. Â I am kinda thinking there is a better way to mix up the formula. Â Such as having items hidden in the overworld and such. Â And making big epic quests other than the dungeons. Â But I kinda like finding these items and the feeling of unlocking new areas because of it. Â Not sure how the new style will work, but you better find worthwhile and fun things in the world/dungeons.
Honestly this item renting thing sounds pointless to me. They said they wanted to change the conventions of getting and using an item in said dungeon, but wouldn't this practically be the same thing, except you have to keep going back to a shop to switch to things for other dungeons?
Maybe it's a better way to choose which dungeon to go to at any time. That's all I can get out of it. The thing is I'm sure not all items are rentable so you might be barred a different way by not getting a certain unrentable item from the story. I guess it could still could open up more areas later like the original did in dark world, but then it would be too similar to the original in that concept wouldn't it?
Now I'm rambling. I might be missing something more concrete.
this is what you could've received 7 years ago if nintendo didn't release GC twice in a row and if WiiU was as powerful as a ps4. i'd let you imagine what could be possible on that... They're a gen behind with this lmaosilversix_there we go with the 'power' thing again, Nintendo systems consistently have a better exclusives library than either SONY or Microsofts machines, the GC had the best exclusives within it's generation, i admit i never really touched the Wii, not fond of motion controls, But apart from last gen i have ALWAYS owned a Nintendo console.
"Insane"? I saw the gameplay videos, it looked pretty conventionally safe. It's like watching the same Knack videos we've all seen and people trying to assert it's tons of fun and trying to hype it as something of extreme excellence.lamprey263
It might still be safe compared to the other 3D Marios, but it does look heaps better than it did before imo. Trying to assert that its fun and awesome isn't really needed normally when Nintendo is concerned but an extra nudge can still help. Doubting them is probably a lot harder in the games department than not beign sure about Knack I would think.
I never really hated it to begin with, but this is definitely securing my purchase.

I doubt this game would run on last gen consoles at half the framerate.
It's not even just about hardware, you think we've had these rendering techniques for 7 years, really? This game is bleeding edge minus rendering resolution. Also there doesn't seem to be any AA yet which sucks, but if they get some good AA going it'll be golden.

I really think that past Zelda games have had too many items that you use for puzzles in one dungeon and then rarely, if ever, touch again. I want the puzzles at the end of the game to be very complex and require the use of all items. This whole renting concept just ensures that this will not happen because you aren't going to have all of the items. It also could lead to a disjointed story, but hopefully Nintendo manages to maintain enough linearity for this not to be a huge issue.[QUOTE="AznbkdX"][QUOTE="NaveedLife"]

I really don't like the idea of a non-linear Zelda. The idea of just renting items to go to whichever dungeon you choose is a real turnoff to me.PurpleMan5000
Well, a non-linear Zelda doesn't have to use these ideas, but that's the challenge. Â It would be the easy way out to keep everything great of the series perfectly intact to make sure not to offend old fans. Â A true genius would find a way to push the series into places that WRPGs are going (and I'm not saying that Zelda is an RPG), all while keeping that feeling of progress and accomplishment present (which imo a lot of WRPGs struggle with). Â If Nintendo can do it they may produce something with all the benefits of both types of games with none of the weaknesses.
