UT3 flopped? what's next??

The GS review's are getting weird, Mass Effect 8.5, AC 9.0? Uncharted a 8.0 and now UT3 oh and dont get me started on The so hated review of kane and Lynch, Gs need to get the reviewer's sorted out and fast, i fear for MGS4...

UT3 DESERVES a 9.0. it's multiplayer is leagues ahead of any shooter, and it's pretty well optimized to boot. i guess gamespot likes those cool, eat-your-graphics card type games... (lookin at you, Crysis.)

Don't worry, it'll get a 9 on the PS3 so get over it and just buy that version.

I said this once, and I'll say it again.

If you played the demo for UT3, you knew it wasn't going to be an AAA game.

Not a hermit cuz i havent touched a pc game in years but back when i did CS was probably the most addicting game ive ever played. That is what I call a true FPS.

I loved CS as well, but you cant call it the best. It plays it safe. Its too simple, doesnt take any chances.

the forge is real time, thats what makes it fun

um it did flop. It was hyped AAA. UT 2k4 got 9.4, UC2 9, Gears of War 9.6 (9 on PC), Epic is expected to make AAA games and they usually deliver.

ok, it's nice when something crazy happens and you have the footage, but most of the time nothing special happens

gamespot reviews are kind of odd nowadays

I always compare gamespots review to other sites. Gamespot UT3 8.5... gamerankings 84.8... metacritic 86 I guess you expected too much as the game as flopped mostly everywhere if you're looking for AAA.

Look at it this way, it hardly has a SP to talk about, it's like UT2004 with a few cutscene there and then. So, it's got a 8.5 just for online.

Now, think of the PC's incredibly high standards when it comes for online, PC gamers played thier first great online shooter in 1996. Console gamers got their first great online shooter in 2004. Look at how many online PC shooters there are, now look at UT3's score.

8.5 is a fantastic score.

I seriously doubt ANY PC gamers said the single player campaign would kill Halo. UT has never and will never be a single player game. As said in Gamespot's review, it's more of a warm up for multiplayer...everyone knows this and it hasn't changed.

After UT3 I think its either Little Big Planet or Killzone 2, hopefully around January-March area, I have a feeling Killzone will be delayed though till like summer.

UT3 didn't flop. No-one hyped UT3 at all after playing the garbage demo. The cows only THINK we hyped it because all the other EPIC games were good, but no-one made hype threads or said "LULZ `1T$ T3H PWNZ HALOZ". And it will get a higher score on the PS3 because compared to other PS3 games, it is good. But PC version is still better. (and cows will have to buy the PC version to make mods"

I blame epic for making it multi-console. I understand more consoles = more money = more good games, but did they have to make the PC version bad to make it equal to console versions? couldn't they have changed the settings a bit for the PC?

WELL they did slap lots of distracting crap onto every weapon and made every projectile twice as slow while at the same time making everything move twice as fast. I think the the new one is worse than 2k4.

I'm just guessing but its likely you havent played the game or completed it yet even if you have started.

I am yet to play the game but can't wait to get to play it as Unreal 2k4 is one of my fav online shooters. If its just a graphical overhaul then maybe it doesnt deserve a classic rating of 9+. Too many games get it at the mo.

Though if decent titles (not great) like AC can get 9 then maybe UT3 should have got more.

GS reviews have been a bit all over the place atm. At first it was blamed on them being biased to the 360 and bashing PS3 but its just a mix of reviewers not working together as a team and reviewing individually instead of reviewing and get other peoples perseptions.

Yeah they can be harsh on Hand-held games i think but by and large get it spot on for PCs and Consoles.

I played the Demo of Unreal 3 and well it sucked to be honest big-time just the same old revamped game from yester year

I played a couple of Bot Matches got to use a vehicle whppie god damn doo and then went online...Played against people realised that the game is just boring now and the weapons well ha man I'm bored of them.

Quake Wars is underrated in my opinion and UT3 is just right Quake Wars deliverers much more than this game dose at the moment ("Mods forthcoming not counted for UT3"), but no doubt people will play this tripe just because of the name i honestly think previous UTs do a lot of things better than this one.

Try Quake Wars honestly its leagues ahead of this regurgitated c... called UT3
