UT3 flopped? what's next??

are they gonna flop God of War 3, MGS4, and Grand Theft Auto? :| come on gamespot. such scrutiny is uncalled for. must you pick at EVERY single little detail? UT3 DESERVES a 9.0. it's multiplayer is leagues ahead of any shooter, and it's pretty well optimized to boot. i guess gamespot likes those cool, eat-your-graphics card type games... (lookin at you, Crysis.)

You do know that UT 3 is averaging an 84% on other sites?

Calm down, it really wasn't that great. I played it, its just UT2004 reskinned, with a terrible campaign and terrible menus.

The only review site /magazine that got the rating system somewhat right is EDGE because their "normal" is around 5 which is should be. A 5 should mean that it's either a skip or buy, and when superb games likeSMG comes out you should be able to tell a difference between a superb game and a masterpiece by more than 0.5 points.

(Note that I'm not talking about their reviews persay nore their taste in games)

UT3 isn't anything like 2k4, it's more like UT99 IMO.

Yeah... whilst UT99 didn't need wall dodge jump, UT2004 did becuase of the vehicles that can over power a other players with out them.

UT3... is a dissaster in VCTF if you aren't in a vehicle or insniper spot.

thats what I was thinking. All these peopel saying it just 2k4 all over again probably never even played UT99 or UT2k4.

has anyone seen the amount of people playing during US peak times and European peak times? I think it's time for pc devs to abandon the US market, because there is seemingly nobody playing PC games online in the US. _Pedro_

I barely see any Americans playing UT99 even. Most are Europeans; Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, France, Norway, Portugal are countries that come to mind.

Americans are ridiculously rare.

I'm not too involved in the UT2k4 community, but I'd expect the same there.

Halo 3 has tons of replayability with its innovative features. UT3 is UT2K4 with a new graphics engine

Don't worry, it'll get a 9 on the PS3 so get over it and just buy that version.

TBH I doubt it.

UT 2,5 didn't flop.. I doubt anybody seriously hyped it a lot.. Well atleast not people that are familiar too UT 2007..

Its mostly console fanboys that are happy too finally get a inferior version of UT.. (no mods)... While not as bad as ut 0,75 (2003) its not exactly a big leap forward..

then how did halo 3 get 9.5? it didnt do anything revolutionary but you hear people saying that it was fun. in the same way ut 3 is just as fun and a well done game as ut 2k4. it really does deserve a 9.

After that joke of a campaign, I think it deserved worse. And that's not counting my rant about the MP. Whatever hope I had of the series redeeming itself in my eyes has been shot to hell.Verge_6
