The PC has always been a part of System Wars. If you feel it's so superior it doesn't need to be included, that's your opinion, but mods have very clearly stated it is part of this forum.

If your so bugged by it I suggest you find another discussion forum where the PC is excluded instead of whining every time it rears it's head (in a topic about maps and user created content no less, obviously someone was going to bring the PC up).

I agree with that but the constant bashing of Ut3 on ps3 from hermits is uncalled for. Sure it was meant for pc is is better on pc but it also carries over very well to the ps3. The online community is huge and it plays just fine. Better on pc from gets as old, as me whining about it.

Why? The pc is upgradeable and has no hardware constrictions. It just dosent seem fair or fun in anyway. The only thing hermits do here is put down consoles and talk about how bad#$$ the pc is. How we are all "tools" and are games are weak compared to pc. You really have nothing to add to systemwars.

You have to develop the mod in a different toolset to thte one used by the PC version.

The only PS3 mods i bet will be ones made by hardcore PS3 users , however they will still need a decent pc to make the damn thing. Which i bet most of them dont, seeing as they are playing the game on the PS3 :roll:

you act like creating a mod is something you can do in 20 minutes... If you are going to make a mod, you put your soul into that mod.

And as of right now, it is impossible because Epic still hasn't released the PS3 Tools.

And to Always-Honest andsupermanfarr, Hermits have every right to be here. This is hardly a user-created map, let alone a user-created mod... Seriously, Epic had to step in an have one of the members of the community do this. How is this a triumph or even something noteworthy? This is nothing more than DLC IMO. Epic's intervention made it that way.

To be fair, Hermits are bashing UT3 more than the PS3 :P

And it's not like this is unique to Hermits. Lemmings are always going on about their version of GTA4, as Cows were with Assassin's Creed (and Oblivion). It's probably just Hermits have more material to argue with.

No, turns out Epic didn't bother actually supporting it at all. You have to make the mod specifically for the PS3. That means that PC mod makers will need to go back and redo the entire mod if they hope for it to be on the PS3. Now ask yourself this. You spend months working on something and you release it. Now, do you actually think you would want to go back and REBUILD EVERYTHING from scratch?

yeah... Epic really dropped the ball on that. Just goes to show how much they really did care about that... They seem to be getting even more and more greedy lately. UT3 PC didn't add anything new and overall, was not as good as previous UT games. That is why its sales are lackluster. As for UT3 PS3, well... They get good sales, praise and lots of money for basically throwing out a game that isn't complete. The mod support is horrid for PS3 users, online has some lag, it isn't as good as it could have been gameplay wise and overall it just isn't done. They make a game good enough for people to overlook glaring issues and clearly half-baked potential, and then rake in the cash. Same thing happened with Gears of War. The story wasn't complete, there were gaps(namely the act later added for the PC version), the lag was atrocious, hosts had huge advantages, the weapons were horribly balanced, and yet again, it just wasn't as good as it should have been.

Anyone else agree with me? Not saying the games are bad but they could be a whole lot better if Epic didn't rush them.

even though i bought the PC version which is OK but too consolized for alot of people to enjoy as a PC game

but i thought that its saving grace would have been extensive PC to console interaction, they first said they would try and impliment cross-plateform play, which is ok to drop for some obvious reasons, but to make what is the same mod Twice just so you can port it over to the console is just rediculous

Yea, i already knew he mislabeled it. And it making the review more favorable is definitely not going to happen.

I'm not surprised at all that Hermits said what they did here. Its become something i expect from Hermits. Doesn't excuse them in anyway though. Also, it really only shows their insecurity towards consoles being less or around 1/4 of the price of a gaming PC and being able to do all the games it can (with the exception of Crysis in its current state of course). I just find it really odd that, with their "superior" knowledge, they wouldn't notice something that displays insecurity so blatantly. I guess i thought a bit more of them then i should've to begin with....oh well.

Yea, i already knew he mislabeled it. And it making the review more favorable is definitely not going to happen.

Many primary PC gamers own 'next gen' consoles, just like I do - and yet they still game on their PCs as a primary.

no, i don't insinuate anything. i clearly say that the so called "bad" stuff in the UT3 PS3 review is stupid. It's strange to deduct points for mods not being there from release.... It's just a ridiculous thing to say.

1. TC is just posting the news.

2. This is good news for PS3 owners - free user content - even if it was developed on PC, and has been for almost two decades.

3. This is a map, not a modification.

4. We dont even know to what extent modifications - especially total conversions, and maps + weapons + characters that have poly counts ect. That exeed the PS3s hardware requirements.

5. The review score is final. It is an advantage that the PS3 version gets PC made user content.
