Valkyria Chronicles PC blows SEGA's predictions and forecast

Well done Sega.

SRPG, especially a game like this, can't be assessed just by watching gameplay video. And screenshots are even worse when you are trying to find out how the game plays.

this game is fantastic so far.. i never even heard of it until a couple weeks ago. its #1 on steam right now and #2 on gmg right now

Tactical RPGs belong on pc as do VC2/3, Vanquish, Yakuza and Bayonetta. Bring it Sega.

with this success i hope they'll consider bringing it to the PS4 i mean since the PS4 is closer to the PC wouldnt that be an easy port for Sega? plz bring it to PS4 would love to play it again with trophies!

well ideally they would bring an updated uptessed version of VC 2 and 3 to the PC first. and then we can hope that a "complete trilogy" thingie might show up on PS4. Atleast that would likely be the best scenario possible? All I say is "Bring it SEGA"

Enjoying it so far, though unless something magic happens later, it seems to lack variety... and I don't feel leveling etc makes a big impact? even the traits.

Still enjoying it, a light hearted anime world war-type game... not a bad idea, would like to see more of these.

Where's your basis for this ? You really think SEGA, who sells so many copies of Total War, Company of Heroes or Football Manager had really low projections for this game ?

You go ahead and believe whatever you want mate. PC is getting more and more Japanese games/console exclusive franchises and there is no stopping it seems. Must be money for those games on PC afterall...

Why would SEGA bring it to PS4 when most of the cows ignored it when it was on PS3? Those of you who remember when I was in PS3 forum in 2009 and 2010, and even after that, I was always trying to get this game known, but still the sales were poor.

I played it on PS3, I am proud of buying PS3 because of this game, but the way it turned out in the end, cows should be the ones to blame that franchise almost died. How many cows even bought VC2?

In my opinion, cows don't even deserve this. Also, finalstar, if you are truly supportive of the game, then buy it on Steam now. If you are not, that makes you a hypocrite.

it would be funny if the official english version of VC3 was released only on PC :P

Always wanted to play this game, Just added it to my wish list ill get it when i finish XCOM

Oh boy. Now that's the one title I genuinely want a port, more so than even Valkyria Chronicles. Why? VC was perfectly playable on PS3, so the PC version is only an enhancement, and a venue for future successes.

Dragon's Dogma on the other hand felt completely unplayable to me on PS3 due to its framerate, so a PC version will actually allow me to play the game.

Capcom? Doing something for gamers?

Well if you remember during that time period i was also one of the big supporters of the game on PS3 heck i remember having a VC sig for months, bought this game day 1 when it came out on PS3 and i own both the retail AND digital version of VC2 if that isnt supporting the game i dont know what is besides didnt it sell over a million on PS3?

Release it on PS4 and will buy it a second time!

I believe This would be a great opportunity for Sega to bring it to PS4 1. Easy port and 2. Big install-base 3. many who got it on PS3 would play it again for trophies

My ass. Cows didn't buy it on PS3, what will change this time around? From what I'm seeing, their taste has gotten worse.

Great news. I bought the original on PS3, VC2 on PSP and even imported VC3 from Japan and used the patch rather than doing it through the PSN store (which is hella easier to use the patch).

Glad it made it to my preferred platform right now. I always thought it would be a good idea for VC landed on PC, but didnt think it'll ever happen. Good to see they had the right idea. Playing it at the moment and I am up to chapter 9.

I don't know about 3, but I would love a remake of 2. It had its flaws mostly due to its hardware limitation, but some stuff were really good (new class, more individuality for squad members by adding character-specific side stories, etc.)

VC3 is the best of the 3 in terms of mechanics and just general class balance - even things like orders and Tank management is well done (compared to VC2). It has the strongest cast of characters and does alot for fans of the first game as it runs parallel to the adventures of Squad 7. VC3 is just really lacking in the production values - the narrative is more of a visual novel than what's seen in 1 and 2 (as in, there's barely any pre-rendered/animated scenes) and it can overstay its welcome towards the end.

Hopefully we'll see an official localization of 3 after this.

Well we won't know until Sega releases the collection for the PS4 and find out.

They need to bring the Trilogy remastered to the PC, PS4 and XB1. Problem solved. I already have the first two games, but I'd love to have all 3 games on one disk.

@chronoschris: VC is a strategy game which are popular on PC. I don't see Yakuza doing as well.

@lostrib: just a very console centric game. I'm actually not a fan of Yakuza. It's always felt really outdated to me.

Not true at all, Lost Odyssey was amazing.

Console centric? Like, lots of other games that sell well on PC? Yes, PC support strategy games more, but every other genre is clearly doing just fine.

Yakuza well do bad or well on PC depending on weather there's an audiance for it. And that has nothing to do with it's "paltform to genre" element

that i would love to see on PC. another that didn't get much acclaim after release. but, the little i played at a friends was pretty good.

i remember reading an article about Dark Souls and how it was console exclusive because the PC crowd wouldn't have accepted it very well...that's the genius media marketing for you.
