Valve, I hate you. I hate you with a passion

First the egg on 360 users by flashing the nice and shiny achievements in our faces but they don't ease off the medal requirements for portal. making chamber 17 literally impossible when going for (least steps) on the 360

if anyone actually got it, the game glitched on you. it had to. I mean, how do you do that longer jump on the 360 version. its just impossible to cut down on steps. and I'm fairly certain the "strafejumping" thing can't be done on the 360

ugh...

i heard there were edge clipping glitches tha could shoot you right to the end....can that be done on the 360 version. anyone know?

It's funny how so many console only gamers hate Valve. Play their games on PC. They are probably the single greatest dev around right now.

Yahoo, mad for an achievment... It change anything in your life to have some points? Make you feel better or something? because I will never understand this madness over some cheap things that merely add some value to expensive game and give a feeling to the dev that they don't need to make more effort to add more contents because you will be happy to replay the darn thing for achievment (cod 4 hours sp anyone?)

What better way to bolster the replayability of your game with having the player go through it again, however with constraints, just for more magic points, that are supposed to be 'rewarding'.... even though they do nothing.

The only way they can make good games on consoles is if they compromise the PC version. You just can't use the gamepad as a complete replacement for FPS games and expect it to have the exact quality control as a keyboard and mouse. You just can't.

does ANYONE know how to do any of the following on the xbox 360

1) Apparently theres some special kinda jump you can do that cuts down on the number of steps that involves using the crouch button. How do you do it

2) Chamber 17 for least steps. It's impossible....I've heard theres a few glitches that can shoot you to the end/near the end though. Anyone like to tell me....PLEASE

3) General info for getting the gold in least steps in chamber 17 would be lovely.....

there is a way to do it, you have to use the shoot portal anywhere cheat, once your right to the end of the game, assuming you have the least steps needed, you save, and then load another game and then reload the game that you were just playing, it fools the game thinking that you never had the cheat on, im going off of a youtube vid, so i could be completely wrong

the story (if you wanna call it that) was damn easy, but there are a few different variations to chambers 5-11

The least steps is possible on 360 - I've done it - but I can't do the least time ones, as they really need to be done on PC with the greater precision and accuracy of a mouse.

Valve games really need to be played on PC, which you should remember before buying Left 4 Dead. They are great at supporting the PC community, but have all but waved two fingers at the console community. Blame it on MS, blame it on Valve, blame it on whoever, but the fact is 10 months on and none of the additional content added several times to the PC version has come to consoles.

I just don't get it. Why do people care so much about achievements? Once you get it, who cares that you have it other than yourself? It's just a form of milkage to keep you playing through a game you couldn't care less about so you can show off your "l33t" gaming skills on your profile.PS2_ROCKS

True, personally I love achievements. I was addicted at one stage, and at that time where i would play loads of games squeezing all i could get out of them was pure gaming bliss. They're not for some people, but thats no reason to bash them.
