I just don't get it. Why do people care so much about achievements? Once you get it, who cares that you have it other than yourself? It's just a form of milkage to keep you playing through a game you couldn't care less about so you can show off your "l33t" gaming skills on your profile.PS2_ROCKS

How is it milkage when it's free?

Oh geez, now we are complaining about replaying a game when we don't have to? What the hell kind of reasoning is that? Achievements are free and completely unneccessary to do. Complaining about them is absolutely one of the silliest things I've heard about this gaming this gen.

Not having any critical thoughts is more silly then thinking they are a complete blessing to gaming.

More than enough developers have abused the idea of achievements already, so such a mindset is even more silly than when the 360 was launched.

It's funny how so many console only gamers hate Valve. Play their games on PC. They are probably the single greatest dev around right now.

Seriously though,their games are meant for PC.

If I have trouble with getting an achievement, I know it's my own fault. I don't go blaming all the companies for those achievements that I am not good enough to get, because I'm not good enough to achieve them. Instead, I either move on to an achievement that I am good enough to get, or try to improve my skills so that I can actually get the achievement.

does ANYONE know how to do any of the following on the xbox 360

1) Apparently theres some special kinda jump you can do that cuts down on the number of steps that involves using the crouch button. How do you do it

2) Chamber 17 for least steps. It's impossible....I've heard theres a few glitches that can shoot you to the end/near the end though. Anyone like to tell me....PLEASE

3) General info for getting the gold in least steps in chamber 17 would be lovely.....

Crouch jump?... literaly as soon as you jump you hit the crouch button and it should add some extra height and distance to your jump.

Its used in almost every game developed by valve.
