Valve Software thoughts on the PS3..

"Just wait"..I am actually not waiting because I am playing 1-2 games with the limited amount of time I have, so I am enjoying my PS3..my Wii needs SSBB, and myPC needs and overhaul. So how about you go play that 360 that you keep praising like its the 2nd coming of Christ and gives the boards an hour break..:).

Don't worry they aren't.. They are farming that out to EA.. The Fast Food of Gaming!!.. I am sure the PS3 version will be just fine with EA doing it for them..LMAO ( Very Happy I own a 360 ) :D

Anyone remeber when Valve totally trashed the PS3.. In another thread some people did not realize EA is porting the game for Valve to the PS3.. The Fast Food of Gaming is porting this game.. I shudder to think how that game will turn out for the PS3..

"The PS3 is a total disaster on so many levels, I think it's really clear that Sony lost track of what customers and what developers wanted," began Newell while sharpening his claws. "I'd say, even at this late date, they should just cancel it and do a 'do over'. Just say, 'This was a horrible disaster and we're sorry and we're going to stop selling this and stop trying to convince people to develop for it.'"

Valve's almost exclusively a PC developer. They couldn't care less about offending someone like Sony, a company that doesn't impact them at all. The reason you don't hear these types of obvious truths out of other developers is that any such public comments could possibly impact their bottom line. Valve's got no reason to fear that risk.

Your loss, kid, believe me. I'm sure the Orange Box will do very poorly in sales because Newell smacked the PS3 down, though, you're right.

I just don't see why any developer affiliated with producing a game would run-down an entire fan-base of people they're trying to sell their product to. That's a terrible mistake and any person who would say that probably has no business speaking out publicly to the buying community. If the console sucks so much and is so terrible to develop for, why do they even do it?

I just don't understand how one company can completely run down a console and call it crap while other companies seem to be having no problem with it. Just look at Activision and Infinity Ward with Call Of Duty 4, they're developing that game for both consoles independently and have expressed no concerns with either one. When you hear about other companies not having the same issues as Valve it makes you wonder if they really aren't just cheap, lazy developers. ;)
