No game has environment this good looking
I'd love to play this maxed out. Any word on it coming to consoles?
Pick it up on a steam sale the game surprising doesn't need a powerful pc as expected to max it.
Its true. The game is beautiful and I love the atmosphere and tone of it. Can't wait till it comes to the PS4.
I don't know if I can for sure say that it's the best looking of 2014, but it's certainly up there. Every time I play it I forget what I'm even supposed to be doing because I end up just walking around looking at everything.
Textures look horrible...Doesn't look anything "photorealistic"
Modded Skyrim looks better
Textures look horrible? These are screenshots that I personally took using a GeForce 660Ti, which is considered a budget card now. I still get 60fps at 1080p and max settings too. The game looks incredible, please show me some games with better textures (preferably unmodded, but if that's all you got then go ahead)...
Yeah, what a terrible looking game...
looks very nice but it has this annoying blurriness to it as well.
Im guessing is their way of doing a tonal atmosphere that fits with the theme of the game, but... the hazed glace blur is still kinda annoying.

A lot of the ground textures end up looking very flat

you can disable the blurriness, i found it annoying too, i think it was some form of post process anti aliasing that makes things look blurry.

you are talking about PC. Doubtful they will let you turn it off on PS4.
Considering that nothing go's on in that game, they should be a lot better graphics. No people, cars moving, animals running around, its very static
Interesting note: My sons name is Ethan James Carter he's 14 years old so no not after this game lol

Most of the textures are above 4k.

Try playing the game first.

lol I have, its pretty boring to be honest. I wondered around the forest come across a bridge with a fucked up track and a rail car I had to move. found a house with a weird portal thing going on etc etc
A game with my sons name, believe me I tried it.

Alright but you seem to have forgotten that there were indeed characters.
Hell there was even a giant kraken or something in this game. It's not static at all.

To be fair to you, I didn't give it that much time, It didn't grip me in the first hour so it didn't get the time it may of deserved. I still think that graphically ryse and unity are better.
The game looks amazing but technically I'd say it's Assassin's Creed Unity.
AC looks amazing but I notice it falls behind in certain assets like the trees and other vegetation .
Vegetation is not really the focus of AC Unity. The building details and especially interiors are insane though.
I think Vanishing of Ethan Carter definitely has a nice look, the texture details look really nice and the game runs in 60 fps in 4k on my 780ti, but technically it's really not too impressive.
Hell, the vegetation looks better in Driveclub, a racing game.
I'd love to play this maxed out. Any word on it coming to consoles?
Doubt it takes that much of your system, as it uses UE3, which is a great engine.
And yeah, it's coming to PS4 as an exclusive (lol) this year.
I bet the PS4 will run this in 1080p and 60 fps. It's super easy to max. My 780ti maxes it in 4k at 60 fps.
Those shots are giving me flashbacks to early day ps3/360 overuse of bloom.
You can always turn it off if you don't like the effect.
Then it looks like Half Life 2.

I agree. The photorealistic textures don't make up for the lighting which is fairly straight forward. the lighting in Unity is amazing. This game really only has photogrammetry going for it.

MonsieurX is basically a Nintendo Troll so yeah pay no attention to him,you know how much Nintendo fans know about graphics.

Still never answer my last post in the other thread.
And why am I a "Nintendo Troll" exactly?
And you're a console troll,so you wouldn't know either
Bought it during the Steam sale but haven't played it much. Didn't like the controls. It feels like I'm kind of floating under water when I walk. Is it supposed to be that way?
The vegetation looks rather plastic
jesus the fuckin negativity in here....
anyway, the game is gorgeous and is one of my most looked forward to games for the ps4.
I really want to play this game, albeit not necessarily for how it looks (which is gorgeous), but because the premise of the game just sounds so interesting.
