Really? I like it alot. I never had a SNES or a Genesis or a Turbo Graphix, so it's a great deal to me. So far I have R-type, LttP, Alien Crush, Ristar, Bonk's Adventure, Super Mario World, and Kirby's Adventure.

These games came out 20 years ago... Developers barely make money for these games nowadays. The goverment doesn't give a care if you watched that 3rd episode of Naruto illegally. They don't come down on you. They usually come down on distributors.

You do make a good point there. That's why I am not buying the Wii for VC. I was gonna buy it for VC alone.....until I saw PSPBlender. I can pay a lifetime fee of 37 bucks and get roms. It kind of works like most downloadable music sites are.....so now I am buying a PSP then PS3 b4 a Wii.

They make money when people pay for them. Like say for example on the Wii? Plus the only games that are even close to 20 years old are the first NES games.

I've played most of the games on the VC... but there are games that I didn't want or was unable to buy a long time ago... perhaps I'll buy them now... and not have to deal with hooking my old stuff up, or ebay.
Perhaps I'll find a game I've never heard of before, that sounds great.
It's not a bad service, but if you've played every game that has ever existed, or are unscrupulous. Clearly it's not for you.
You make assumptions that everyone has the games on the VC. This ignores several key points.
1. Not everyone played games back then/had that system back then/was alive back then.
2. People trade in games, and consoles. Often when its successer turns up. As such, they no longer have the game in question.
3. Consoles, and cartridges break. My Multi-Mega will play Mega Drive games, but not Mega CD games. My PlayStation died several years ago. i'm unlikely to be the only one in this position.
4. Quite simply, you might just have not bought that game. I never owned Donkey King Country. It's rare to see it in the shops, and if you do find it, it's expensive. But I now have it on the Virtual Console, for a fraction of the price.
