heh- should we still call the Dreamcast Katana and the GameCube Dolphin? ;) and I suppose we could stick with 'PlayStation X' as well
well project natal/kinect creeps me out, i just sits there watching you flail your arms about, plotting. And kinect doesnt fit that at all it makes it sound like some 3 year olds toy. Project natal sounds like a new pregnancy test but it would fit something creepy a bit more.[QUOTE="gamebreakerz__"][QUOTE="a_simple_gamer"]

Multiple gamers? You mean 2 players max? Stop spreading misinformation about the Kinect there's nothing next gen or this gen about it. If anything it's upgraded last gen technology which will add nothing to gaming in general unless you like waving your feet and arms into thin air. Yeah real exciting and revolutionary.

It fully tracks 6 players, that is confirmed
Good luck with the rumored 2 players
You seems to spread the misinformation actually, based on some random articles on the net and zero actual proof, the same article you took your "info", says it tracks 6 players fully, so if a developers likes can have 6 players at once with the right software implementation

Like with Move, 6 players will be fine, hiting each others heads with a stick if are close by, that may break as well
Good luck with that

Ok, but you're expecting too much of the devs. You're not going to get some incredible control scheme that combines a classic controller with extreme minority report implementation.
It's going to be:
A: Flailing
B: Controller in front of psEYE style. How is full body tracking in 3D going to benefit you when you're in the couch with your gamepad? They're going to add simple waves and voice commands. Or are you going to be playing, standing in the middle of the room, riverdancing?

You start to wonder if this man is MS employee lurking this forums cause any sane person can see The Kinect is nothing special and adds nothing to a game experience instead it takes things away leaving you with simple party games and Scittles!
Lets suppose Kinect is as amazing as is being claimed. Big deal. All the games for Kinect will be mini-games, fitness games, and other casual crap. No core games will be made specifically for Kinect. Kinect will be an after-thought on core games; if at all.... a silly, tacked-on gimmick.

Can Kinect do true 1:1 motion tracking? Didn't think so :PIt doesn't map 6 people's motion. It can only track 2 "active players." 20 joints per active player.
Anything else is equivalent to furniture background noise.

With all do respect, who cares? Moving around to relax and play a videogame? Those just don't sit that well with the majority of gamers, I would think. If I'm doing physical activitiy, I'm really going to go do it. I won't deny the technology is pretty cool, but other than the fitness game, it just doesn't mix with games, imo.
The Move, which offers the ability to control games in 3D, and in tandem with 3Dtv, offers the more realistic bridge from the wii to the next generation of consoles. Sure sonys setup is a ripoff, but it is still an intelligent one. 3D is being backed by not only Sony, but nintendo as well. Games made for wii, can now be upgraded for move--and vice versa. This leaves Kinect in a dead zone. Why would developers develop for kinect, when they can make a game for the highest selling console, and release it for one that seems to be up and coming?

Like I said Kinect is just an add-on gimmick for Fable 3 and Child of Eden those games were not designed for kinect and can be played perfectly fine without. They certainly don't warrant the $150 price. And I bet this will be the same for all core games.
Milo was a tech demo and not even a real game. The Star Wars game looked like crap from the demo. Slow and fake looking.
I agree that the tech is better than both Wii and Move, but it still is a $150 peripheral that I don't see appealing to core gamers at all.

This kinect is really just a plug for more casual gamers, and that's a good thing. I do think it'll be mostly mini games, party games(basically eyetoy-esque games) that will support kinect. However, $150 is pretty steep for an add-on. That price will have to drop before consumers, and devs, seriously support it.
I Dont Think They Did Man.... Sorry :(well im deffenetly getting it for the voice control and hands free menu. The hardcore games will come eventualy im shore microsoft looked into all these things

haha. So you would rather navigate menus and such through clumsy voice control and hand-waving over a simple and precise controller... whatever floats your boat.

Now, MS just needs so make it cheaper than i think it will be and develop some good core games for it to deliver.

since you know so much about the kinect, what games are being developed for it? I can give you a list of games that are already available for the Wii and games that are being developed with the move for the ps3. Will the kinect give the true 3D gaming experience? as in, is your 360 capable of displaying real 3d with the right tv? With the PS3 you will be able to play games with the move AND in 3D to create a true 3D gaming experience.
btw, no fanboy, but I'm just arguing for the sake of arguing. I dislike all motion controls, move, kinect, and wii-mote included.

Demon Soul is my best PS3 game by far, you got that right and definatly up there with Fable 2-3, Mass Effedt 1-2-3 etc
As for valkyria, i hated it, i dont like the missions based gameplay at all, i could not even finish the demo to be frank
I am also interested in Last Guardian, will buy it day one, unless something terribly wrong happens
And FF13vs is a wait and see, after FF12 and FF13 i am sceptical, ihated both those, so dont have many hopes for FF13vs
I also will buy the new Gimbli JRPG
But the fact still remains, in 2010, PS3 has almost nothing for me, i liked GOW3, but was a rent for me and a very shallow, short and repeatitve game
