I'm not a giant fan of fighting games but the new additions found in the 360 version have me interested.

Key Features:

· Online Multi-Player enables players to compete worldwide challenging any one, any where, any time, using Xbox Live.

· Leaderboards enable players to see how they stack up against other players worldwide both in their Arcade Mode scores and clear time, and in the command list clear time for their favorite character.

· Character Data Portability makes it possible to save characters created in the Quest Mode via Memory Unit and play with those characters against other people's customized characters in the VS Mode on other Xbox 360 systems.

· Quest Mode where players can compete in various arcades and win prize money to fully customize each character. The Quest Mode will also allow players to choose their opponents allowing for more strategic and flexible gameplay. Would you rather fight in an easy competition to win items to customize your character or compete against the highest ranked fighter to improve your dan-level? The choice is yours.

· Balanced Gameplay Based on the latest arcade version Virtua FighterTM 5 will be the most balanced release of Virtua FighterTM ever on a home console.

· Improved AI makes challenging the highest level rival characters in quest mode much more difficult for advanced players. AI opponents will also differ more from each other and have individualistic styles.

· In-depth DOJO Mode where players can learn and practice thousands of moves and techniques to succeed. The DOJO Mode allows players to practice against any of the characters they choose, set their skill level, specify their actions and reactions and activate in depth display settings showing button inputs and move frame counts in real time. For the first time players will also be able to post their command list clear time results to an online leaderboard.

· Enhanced Commentary Function allows players to turn on play-by-play sports commentary audio creating an action-packed competitive atmosphere.

· Stunning, Highly-Detailed 3-D Fighting Environments inspired by locales around the world where players can challenge their opponents in unique types of arenas.

· Next Gen Presentation 720p HD resolution widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1. Improved anti-aliasing for the general graphic presentation.

· Online Details give gamers the option to view replays of the top characters in Score Attack Mode and offer Marketplace sales items.

What do you think?

I haven't played a VF game in while, due to its absence on the Xbox last gen, so I'm excited to try this one out.

Yup, the x360 version will be the definitive version of the game.

I purposely skipped VF5 on PS3 because of no online multiplayer.

....and I remember some cow arguing with me that VF5 would never get online multiplayer...and that I was an idiot for thinking so....

Poor, poor cows!

This is part of the downside to PSN... Sega probably didn't wanna pay for servers on PSN, but didn't have to for XBL. I understand this is just 1 game, but it certainly won't be the last.

Yeah the last fighter I bought was on the old Xbox but the creating you're own character and bringing him online to fight someones custom character sounds interesting.

No, no, no. You just don't get it, do you?

According to cows, developers love and prefer PSN over XBL. Sega just hates PS3....that's the only reason why VF5 wasn't online-enabled for it.

Let me explain the story of SEGA.

Once upon a time they had a reputation for making great games. However, their constant obsession over always being first to market caused them to release poor hardware. Their constant rush to next-gen caused most customers to lose faith in the company because they never knew if their latest purchase would get any support or not. So SEGA went out of business and only made games.

But then something funny happened. Suddenly SEGA was pumping out terrible Sonic games. Suddenly their high-quality titles were beaing beaten in 4 hours. Or, they would release games like VF for the PS2 after only 6 months of development, full of jaggies and shimmer problems, and if it sold well they released a better verions with the problems fixed.

While most gamers are getting fed up with SEGA's constant stabbing them in the back, there are still some true believers holding vigil in hopes of a resurection. They still think SEGA games are high quality, and that SEGA would actually release agame "how it shoulda been" the first time out.

Yup, the x360 version will be the definitive version of the game.

I purposely skipped VF5 on PS3 because of no online multiplayer...

LosDaddie

Yeah, this really bites. I skipped for the same reason. It'll be hard to take Sega's word at face value again after they said a bunch of times the 360 version would not have online play. But Los, do you have to be so condescending towards PS3 only owners? Unless you've offically become a lem, there's no need to rub it in the faces of gamers with the "poor poor cows "comment.

Well, I don't know the whole back story on why Xbox getting online and PS3 didn't. I do know one thing, Sega lied to me as a gamer. It'snot something to sweat about, but I will have a closed ear from now on when Sega speaks. I will be pawning in my copy of VF5 and write a nasty letter to Sega corporation.

Yes - as I said before; many PS3 fans were saying alot of things back then and I think they may feel a bit foolish as it stands today.

Not all were saying these things but there were quite a few as I remember it.

Ofcourse n00bs wouldnt know this..

Technically I also side with the people who say SEGA prefers XBL. I just think it's because SEGA is too useless and lazy to do online themselves. XBL is perfect because MS worries about the service and SEGA can just focus on pumping out their next butchering or selling-out of a childhood memory.

ZIMdoom

Thats basically it. 100% true

Exactly.

Yup, the x360 version will be the definitive version of the game.

I purposely skipped VF5 on PS3 because of no online multiplayer...

Noles_Enemy

Yeah, this really bites. I skipped for the same reason. It'll be hard to take Sega's word at face value again after they said a bunch of times the 360 version would not have online play. But Los, do you have to be so condescending towards PS3 only owners? Unless you've offically become a lem, there's no need to rub it in the faces of gamers with the "poor poor cows "comment.

I would expect for him to be a bitter person. He likes the Xbox360 and is a seminole fan.

It's all about the U.

Last I recall, most online games like fighters, racers and sports titles are hosted on somebody else's machine...not on a server.

If I'm wrong about this, then please correct me. But I specifically remember all the lemming saying that XBL (before it came out) was worth the money because every game had a dedicated server. But then it came out that wasn't the case and if you hosted a game then people were just connecting to your console. SO then they started saying it was worth the money because of friend matching and other features.

I'm pretty sure that only MMORPGs use expensive dedicated servers to play online.

Armored_cell

Youve listed 2 multiplay games in retaliation for VF5. Tekken 6 will be hitting arcades(360 games is as to pc games) and SC4 hitting the 360.

Your in full Damage control mode. Its nice how you e-thug people who insult you but you call them noobs bbefore they even insulted you.

GG,eyes are brown.

[QUOTE="LosDaddie"]FSU alumnus and I own all 3 consoles.Noles_Enemy

You own all 3 doesn't mean anything. It clear to us you prefer the 360 over the other 2. And you went to a school of ex-convicts and liars. I would understand why you so quick to be bitter towards anyone who in a position of actually being successful.

ah...the old Criminole argument.

And you think I'm not successful? Yeah....keep saying that to yourself.

I think there were some saying that but really the point was that the agreement between MS and the games published on the 360 must have the XBL code ( achiev. voice ect. ) and thats why most all 360 games have an online component.
