This is what the TC is saying:
DOA4 is better because it is more fun and that is not an opinion it is a fact.
topcatyo
No, it's an opinion. The only thing DOA4 has going for it is breast physics & pretty graphics. Beyond that, it's a button-masher's wet dream with a busted counter system & no real depth to speak of. VF5 is the complete package; gameplay, graphics & depth. DOA4 is just a breast physics simulator & shouldn't be taken seriously as a fighter.

Fighters are my favorite genre actually. And I've played every DOA game out there, they're fluff IMO & can't begin to stack up to other heavy-hitters in the fighting engine department. Tell me I'm full of BS & that I haven't played any DOA & blah, blah, blah. And use only Gamepot's score to try & prove your point, it doesn't change a thing. Hardcore fighting game fans know the real deal when they see it, & it isn't DOA.

DOA4 is just more fun. Period, End of story. I dont care about the claims of more depth or complexity to VF5, the game is just too old school. Fighting in flat arenas with no interaction with the environment seems primitive now, and its not very exciting either. I just spent the last couple of hours going back and forth between both games. DOA4 is just more visually exciting ( spectacular actually )and the game play is faster and more spontaneous. Fighting purists be damned, the VF series needs to be put out to pasture untill it can offer legitimate next gen upgrades to the visuals and gameplay.Videodogg
[QUOTE="Bren128"]The king of iron fist tournament 6 laughs at both of them.menmauOr maybe not... Or so, As a series Tekken>>>VF>>>>>>DoA. Tekken has more depth, smoother gameplay, and more appealing characters. I do have to give the nod to the others as far as enviorments go, especially DOA. If i had to put SC in there id probably put it just ahead of vf......but itd be close....

I don't understand why people think DOA is such crap. I mean Doa Ultimate and Doa4 outscored the past 2 Soul Calibur games, and the most recent VF game. It's not like it's Clay Fighter for god's sake people, it's a good game. People just hate on it cuz it's only on Xbox/360osusfaithquoted for making a point. i think its the only reason people hate on it.

DOA4 killed VF5
By score, yes DOA4 wins. By technical merit, VF5 wins. So which would you prefer as a purchase? Based on a score or technical gameplay? Oh, and btw. Tekken: DR will outscore these two games next week. So much for next gen. Tekken > all.chrismunx

VF5 is alot better than DOA4 in terms of it's fighting system, which makes or breaks a fighting game. But the fact that there is almost nothing to do in VF5 makes DOA4 by far the better game.Doa4 was leaps n bounds better then Doa3, so hopefully Doa5 will be that big of an improvement or more so But don't expect it this year, or next year most likely. I'd say 2009 likely
Hopefully SEGA/AM2 will put a few more modes into the 360 version, the main one being an online mode!
Then it will be the best fighting game on the 360...so far.Although i wonder if DOA5 will make it to 360 this year, and if so i hope Itagaki improves the fighting system because it does suck imo.
