they are a very good indication. Seems spot on for the most part with the NPD numbers. Get halo 3 to make you feel better.

Oh, Rengegade. The road of denial is a long and dangerous one. You are hopelessly delusional in thinking NPD numbers will be much different. Halo 3 has completely outdone anything on the PS3 this year, in terms of reviews, and sales. You can keep crying about it, or just live with it. 2.5 million copies sold. More than Halo 2 which had a larger console install base. Just open up and eat the ownage pie, because there is no denying it.

Don't get me wrong. It sold great as it outsold the Wii twice in a row. But thats nothing like what some lems were hyping it to sell. They were expecting it to pull a PSP in Japan kind of thing.

I'm surpise the Ds still outsold everything including the Xbox and the Xbox only outsold the wii by 20,000. This is with the release of Halo 3. I don't think the wii can be stopped now. Halo 3 just but a dent on the Nintendo war machine.chansaet

Funny, I don't think that the 360 was EVER #1 in monthly sales. Last year, it was ALWAYS behind the PS2. This year, it's ALWAYS behind the Wii and DS. Even now, with the release of what is supposed to be its greatest and most successful game ever, it's STILL only #2, and is only slightly ahead of #3 (last week they were almost dead even, IIRC). :lol:

If those figures are correct, in only one week (few days, even) Halo already has over half the sales that Wii Sports has had in 45 weeks. That's impressive, no matter how you slice it.Zeliard9

WiiSports sold only as fast as the Wii did. I don't think Nintendo had two million consoles at launch. Better to compare it to Zelda, or Metroid, or another standalone game.

alright it didnt sell 5 million in its first week but.... take a look at heavenly sword...barely 100,000 copies... if thats not a flop i dont know what is
