[QUOTE="kuraimen"]I think the game is a new IP.rasengan2552that wouldn't be very so mind blowing then.
If the new IP game is awesome looking then yea it could be mind blowing. Besides MS aint doing anything in terms of exclusives to keep up with Sony and Nintendo.
[QUOTE="rasengan2552"][QUOTE="kuraimen"]I think the game is a new IP.kuraimenthat wouldn't be very so mind blowing then. Normally these kind of announcements are not very mind blowing.
Especially not in here. Wait until they announce what it is, you'll see all the anti-PS3 people making threads about how lame that "mind blowing" exclusive was. Meh, SW must be the most misleading section of any existing forum on the whole internet :| Far as i've seen.

That I agree.Thats mostly 360 fanboys making topics saying "that ps3 exclusive is lame. Our 360 muliplats are better" just to defend the fact that the 360 is lacking in the exclusives department.

Yeah and then they go and defend Sesame Street :Pactually I heard rumors that gears is exclusive to sony now. The discs sold to xbox gamers will now melt when its inserted into drives. Trust me, I got an insider voice.... inside my mindDiviniuz
I know your joking but if gears ever when over to playstation that would be the nail in the coffin for the 360 (at least for me it would). The only reasons I keep my 360 now is for gears 3, left 4 dead and some of the features of xbox live. I have gamed more on my ps3 this year than I ever had before because MS is not impressing me anymore.
 Let me guess, your dad works for Rockstar?
But in all seriousness, GTA V will not be exclusive to any platform.
Doolz2024
GTA 5 DLC might be a timed exclusive for one console. If Sony is smart they will do like MS did with GTA 4 and pay Rockstar a boat load of money to make the expansion packs exclusive to ps3.
[QUOTE="Pug-Nasty"][QUOTE="lamprey263"]Yeah right, GTA IV sold around 10 million on Xbox 360, the PS3 version comes pretty close as well, between the two console version this game did phenomenally well, sold more than LA Noire and Red Dead Redemption combined. Funny thing is Rockstar game sales between these 3 titles is pretty even for the most part, split down the middle for Xbox 360 and PS3 sales. I don't see GTA V being an exclusive at all, considering that half of Rockstar revenues from each game come from one of the two ports it would be sabotaging the company to make their best selling IP an exclusive.lamprey263
I dunno, GTA is a system seller for sure. Maybe it isn't even for the ps3, but the ps4. That resets the userbase and is a pretty compelling reason to choose one system over another.
it's a PS3 exclusive not a PS4 exclusive, besides Rockstar won't pass up on the current userbase for a game like thisMy point is they wouldn't sell that much less because the game will shift systems. People would go out and buy a ps3 and the game so they could play it. Not too many games are like this, but GTA is one of them.
Basically, if they made some deal with Sony, they would make out from that deal and still selling close to what they would have, and Sony would make out by shifting tons of systems. I think MS would fight pretty hard to keep it from happening, though.

Sony just doesn't have the kind of cash sitting around to make franchises like GTA exclusive anymore.[QUOTE="Pug-Nasty"][QUOTE="lamprey263"] it's a PS3 exclusive not a PS4 exclusive, besides Rockstar won't pass up on the current userbase for a game like thisKC_Hokie

Sony just doesn't have the kind of cash sitting around to make franchises like GTA exclusive anymore.Cash up front isn't the only way to close a deal. In fact, it's probably one of the least common in this day and age.
Offering R* a waiver on licensing fees for the game and DLC, or even just a lesser amount, could be enough of an incentive. They could also offer to pay for the marketing. A lot of different deals that may be made more attractive if R* already had difficulty with the disc size on the 360 and they want to go bigger with GTA V.

Makes no sense. Sony wouldn't make their money back on that. Not going to happen.[QUOTE="Pug-Nasty"][QUOTE="KC_Hokie"]Sony just doesn't have the kind of cash sitting around to make franchises like GTA exclusive anymore. KC_Hokie

Makes no sense. Sony wouldn't make their money back on that. Not going to happen. How would they not make their money back? Selling an ass load of consoles to gamers practically guarantees sales of other games, as in license fees that would otherwise not be procured. The problem with people on this board is they can't see anything not directly in front of them.

Thats not all they payed for, GTA4 was supposed to be a PS3 excusive...you really think M$ payed $75mill just to get timed exclusives? that's just a poor business model.....look it up, it wasn't supposed to be on the 360 at first.

Also, why would Rockstar even do that? The licensing fees are something like 20%....by not going multiplatform they would lose a ton of money. I can do basic math in my head and can tell you Rockstar would be idiots to do that. And, again for Sony to make GTA V exclusive they would have to commit development and marketing funds. Cash they simply don't have.

Are you under the impression that Sony is bankrupt or something? How can there be all these ps3 and game ads from them if that's the case?
And, again, if you do basic math you fail to look at the big picture. R* won't only be selling the game to current ps3 owners, but to people willing to buy a ps3 to play the game. If they even came close to the number of copies they sold with GTA IV, but didn't have to pay licensing fees, the game would already make more in revenue than GTA IV. Nevermind that the system is cheaper and current user base us much larger than either was when GTA IV came out.
I'm not even saying that this is all likely, but to act like it isn't possible is plain idiotic and small-minded.
That comment wins this thread. If it was PS3 exclusive that would never, ever happen.Don't know R* would release the GTA 5 trailer on Xbox Live if it's exclusive to the PS3

Um.......you do realize the PS3 version is the better version right? Nice way of sticking your foot in your mouth huh. When you guys post without getting your facts straight first, it cracks me up.After the shoddy port jobs of RDR and GTA IV for the Ps3?
Hell no. Rockstar has made it clear the platform they're focusing on is the 360.
Plus there's just no way such a huge name would go exclusive again, there's too much money to be lost.
theuncharted34
If true, it will be a timed exclusive. I don't know why R* would throw away the multiplat sales, even temporarily, though.
As a pc gamer it wouldn't bother me a bit. Gta4 runs like crap on pc. Even if GTA5 comes to pc, I will not be buying it on pc. I will be getting it for PS3.It would be awesome if it were true but we all know that GTA 5 is not gonna be a ps3 exclusive. Can you imagine all the 360 and PC fanboys whining and crying and boycotting, trolling if GTA 5 was a ps3 exclusive? If anything the ps3 will get GTA 5 DLC as a timed exclusive or something.

So your logic is...
(Rockstar CEO): let's grab our most wanted franchise sold to all the major consoles and that sells about 20 million copies and let's make it exclusive to one console and then our sales could lower about 10 million.
I'm impressed TC by your logic actually.. even though it makes no sense at all.
