Vicious Engine Now Approved For Xbox 360 Tools And Middleware Program

Vicious Cycle's Intuitive Middleware Solution Allows Developers Greater Creativity

CHAPEL HILL, NC - Vicious Cycle Software Inc. today announced that the Vicious Engine®, its powerful middleware solution for cross-platform development, is now approved for the Xbox 360TM console Tools and Middleware Program.

Accessible and comprehensive, the Vicious Engine provides developers a complete middleware solution for creating games across a variety of genres and platforms. The intuitive data-driven development tool permits game creation without any full-time programmers.

"The Vicious Engine’s entry into the Xbox 360 Tools and Middleware Program reflects our continued dedication to providing developers with the tools they need to create great games for the latest video game systems," said Eric Peterson, president at Vicious Cycle Software. "Using the Vicious Engine, developers can focus on creativity and innovation rather than worrying over technical details."

Making it easy for everyone on the development team to use, the Vicious Engine® maximizes core technologies to offer a flexible and reusable platform for building original games in record time. Highlights of the engine’s capabilities include point-and-click scripting, a comprehensive integrated physics solution, easy AI (Artificial Intelligence) development, straightforward platform conversion and powerful rendering that draws complex, dynamic scenes.

They got developers in that one horse town?

Just had to add that Durham >>>> Chapel Hill and the backwoods of Orange County, North Carolina...

Anyways, interesting read. Something else to look forward to...

A while back the cows were bashing the 360 for having all its games rely on the Unreal 3.0 engine and now they bash because a new engine is coming to the console.

System Wars logic FTL.

 If you can read the site, you'll find out that the only thing the engine's been used so far for is PSP and Wii games, hardly a prime choice for 360.

After watching and reading a bit Id rather just use Torque Game engine, has basicly all the same stuff but more since there is a lot more support from the entire Indie world.

I am less than impressed. This engine has "second-rate" written all over it. Kind of like the White Engine, but without the fanboy hype attached to it.

Well from what I understand they have tweaked it so it can be used for Xbox 360, so the visuals and stuff wont be the same as you see in their examples since those are all last gen games.

Yeah I figures so, it seems to be an Indie game engine, not bad for a indie game engine actually.
