They both have potential but they both lack content. What's up with that? Been waiting to pick up a Wii U and Vita but it's all show no go. With the next gen around the corner I think this holiday season I'm going to invest a lot of my time and money into it buying games, extra controllers and what not. But I am interested to seeing the if the ps vita is able to do remote play with the ps4. I think with that feature alone I will buy a vita. The Wii U on the other hand. I think they mention a mario game by the end of the year but it's a little too late.

I guess it sorta is. I dunno if it can hang with the other two system though but if it can offer something like what the 3ds has been doing than I think it will be successful.

Fixed. Vita has plenty of ports, and not many killer apps it can call its own. I don't think this is a detriment, but it still has a long way to go in library building.

Vita is over a year old. Wii U is only 6 months old...big difference. Vita is nearing a year and a half old and has nothing.

Vita had a bunch of flops (Assassin's Creed Liberation, Black Ops Declassified). Wii U has no killer app yet (not in North America, at least).

True. Again, you're comparing 6 months and near a year and a half (vita)...

So, yea. Just common sense.

Persona 4 The Golden IS a port but it has over 20 hours of new content among other new things. The majority of Vita games aren't ports though.

Sound shapes has a PS3 version and Persona 4 golden is an expanded port of a PS2 game. Again, I don't think less of the system for it, but when it's best games are expanded ports of Persona 4, Ninja Gaiden, Rayman Origins, and a bunch of cross buy titles, it's hard for it to stand apart.

I'd like to see both systems improve to the point of not being outright failures. I got a Wii U for Christmas and like Nintendo's first party games, and the Vita is some very nice hardware and would lovw to one day own one.

Nah, Vita will be lucky to even make it into 2014. The Wii-U will eventually get it's inevitable flow of quality 1rst party titles like every gen while the Vita has no identity whatsoever. Like so many handhelds before it, the potential is there but Sony just doesn't know what to do with it. As for the Wii-U, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt, for now.

Nah, the Vita will be lasting the entire duration on this cycle and will get many great titles in the years to come just like the PSP did.

Handhelds are a joke. The only people who play them are Japanese people who ride on trains all day. If i'm bored and want to play a game on the go somewhere i'll play a free game on my phone.

I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time hearing you, your head is shoved so far up your own ass. Tell what you said to the 70 million plus people that bought a DS in the United States alone. And can you please list off the amount of games worth playing on a phone? You know, ones that actually provide a meaningful gaming experience?

Wii U will do fine, slow start, Nintendo just has to make 7 Mario games and the day is saved.
The Vita may not last in America however. Itll do fine overseas but America? Idk.

I'm not looking for a 'meaningful gaming experience' when i'm gone somewhere. If i'm waiting somewhere for a few minutes i might play something like solitaire or quiz cross.

I think the Vita has more potential over the Wii with 3rd parties.

Nintendo just needs to release some 1st party titles.

Not even close to just as bad. The amount of money in console gaming, that goes into proper console gaming, and can be made in console gaming is on a higher plane than what the Vita could have brought Sony to be quite honest vs what the WiiU can bring Nintendo.

Normally when arguing about things like that, people use past tense, meaning that we come to a conclusion based on past experiences. You can't say that a system is worth getting because it WILL have great games. Once the said great games come out, then we'll decide.

They're full on ports that did a decent job rather than half hearted spin-offs designed to recreate a console experience.

I disagree, I'm convinced all Vita needs is a healthy price drop that's attractive to both Sony and the consumer and that thing will take off.

The Vita at a decent price is attractive, it will get consumers and games. But that's not going to work for the Wii U, home consoles are in the tough catch 22 situation where they need games first.

I'd take the Vita over the Wii U.

Anyway I might be done with Nintendo now, Mario hasn't been that enjoyable to me since before the GC and Zelda, well I liked TP but i'm getting tired of it now. Also Nintendo should have worked to make Shadow of The Eternals (Spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness) exclusive. Now that would have impressed me, because I don't give a sh*t about Bayonetta 2.
