Either that or a much more appealing pricetag. I'm probably gonna get it, but I'll wait for a price drop.

I squint and facepalm at some of Sony's moves.
I agree in a sense that Vita needed to do something different since it is trying to be a lesser version of a console but cost the same as a console at the same time. So spend more then a console to play for example a weaker Uncharted game or play the better uncharted game on a console that is cheaper. I just think from everything I have seen Vita is just trying to have console style games but they are just not as good as console games and after adding in add-ons such as memory and the Vita itself it is more then a console.

3DS doesn't have a 3G version, so we'll compare the WiFi version. You're considering 2GB SD card when he included 32GB memcard for that $350. A 4GB memcard would be around $20. That would be $270. I hope I don't get hooked by new system excitement. What Vita needed was a reminder of the Playstation brand. Destruction Derby should be launching with the unit. Sony should also be stressing FPS "anywhere".
SNES CD addon later became the PS1.ugoo18The SNES CD addon was never publicly released. And while Philips acquired a few Nintendo licences for the CD-i, the CD-i was never a Nintendo product. Manufacturers were Philips, Magnavox and Sony. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-i The first true Nintendo optical disk based console is the GameCube.

3DS comes with a 2gb memory card already as well as the 1.5gb it has in built.
You don't need the 3DS starter kit because the 3DS works without it just fine, you need the memory card to play games on the Vita. You don't need screen protectors and a cleaning cloth because the 3DS works without them perfectly fine.
$160 + $170 = $330

Everybody I have ever known that plays videogames looks at it this way, as well. Most people generally buy two games and an additional controller at launch, for consoles. Given the poor battery, the pack is almost a must. I bought a 3DS at launch; $250 + $80 in games. $330. Luckily for me, Amazon was offering a $25 credit for the system purchase, plus another one for the games which I believe was $15. That brings it down to $295, which is still very pricey imo. Vita is just outrageous.

Clearly you didn't understand the point of the post. It was to show that the vita cost a certain amount just like the 3DS cost a certain amount. If you are planning to spend more than the price of the system you are buying then it isn't the system that cost more it is your purchase that cost more. Saying the Vita is $400 isn't correct. Saying the Vita+ your other purchases with the Vita will come out to $400 is correct.

I'm not arguing battery life. The battery pack is a useful addition. I'm a fan of it. Bluetooth sucks battery, and I believe local coop uses bluetooth. I'm leaning towards buying one, and one reason would be playing fps/street fighter type games out and about with friends.

A bigger card is necessary for Vita because a lot of full fledged titles will be PSN exclusive--Gravity Crash, for example. I stand by what I said and my comparison is completely valid.
It has no games that appeal to the mass market.... that's what it needs mostcirclesquareThat and the price. I think Sony misunderstood the handheld market, and the console gamers they tried to make play Handheld. I'm pretty sure they'd prefer a big TV, comfortable couch and steroes etc. Look at the DS, and the kind of games that it had which made it so popular. PsP/Vita is the opposite to that and so it had the opposite of success. People, when buying handhelds, their main concern isn't its graphics but is it affordable? The answer is no, therefore no one will buy it. The second thing is the games. I dont know who would want Assasins Creed Revelations on a handheld when you can play it on a nice High Definition TV.

That isn't the point. The point is that many proper games will be released on psn. A larger card will be necessary, and cheaper in the long run.
