I would have to say Wii U. Despite Nintendo pouring in all this support and making good first party games, the console still struggles to sell. The hardware is super weak and the tablet controller was an epic flop. Meanwhile, the Vita failed due to the dawn of smartphones and tablets. The Vita has a lot more competition than the Wii U does. So there goes my vote. What say you, SW?

PS Vita, obviously. The Wii U at least has a decent library. Most of the good games in the Vita's library are either re-releases/ports or only seem good because of the lack of actual good games on the system.

Wii U's software support, despite financial failings, make it less of a flop than the Vita, which was completely abandoned by Sony. That is a bigger flop in my eyes.

And remember, people were saying that Vita was going to crush the 3DS. No one was saying that about the Wii U. That's practically the definition of a flop right there. Overhyped followed by total failure.

The Wii U managed to garner a great library of some unique and must play games, which make it the better machine for the dedicated gamer in the end. The Vita ended up becoming a Persona 4 machine.

The Vita was the bigger flop.

But it sold that much without any marketing and after having been shunned and ignored again and again by Sony themselves.

Hmmm, I may have to do some rethinking.

Vita. Sony abandoned Vita years ago outside of token stuff. Nintendo still has key franchises in the pipeline for Wii U.

Wii U. Sony's record of handhelds (As anyone elses outside Nintendo) has been lacklustre and there was little expectation on the vita. Wii U was coming off the back of a major success for Nintendo (if not the gamer) with the original wii.

In short, Sony was expected to fail, Nintendo wasn't. And they both failed.

I didn't say that. ALL systems have tons of re-releases/ports.

Look at the Wii U's best games, though- Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Maker, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Pikmin 3... They're all games that you will only be able to play on the Wii U, and they're all pretty damn good.

The Wii U just has a much better library than the Vita does.

Vita, it flopped so hard Sony will never be able to release another handheld. Also Vita did so bad that Sony abandoned it. Not one release from Sony in 2015.

Sony's record with handhelds was awesome. PSP sold 80+ million units. How can you possibly call that lacklustre?

Vita isnt just flopping in consoles sold, its flopping harder in games sold. Youd be lucky to find a game that sold over 1 million, to where with Wii U, youd be lucky to find a game on other systems that sold better then Mario Kart 8.

Find a time machine and head back to 2012. Many people believed the Wii U would continue where the Wii left off and was going to run riot on the competition.

If they kept pushing it and still getting lackluster sales makes it more of a flop?

Also, Nintendo thought that people who bought Wii would buy WiiU. Alot of people thought the tablet was just an accessory to the Wii.

Nintendo went from a 100 million userbase to 10 million.

Sony went from an 80 million userbase to 12 million.

You mean the worst selling handheld from Nintendo so far?

Nintendo saw a huge drop off of their install base for both their dedicated home console and handheld from last generation to the current one.

From November 14th - 21st the PS4 sold over 4x as many units as the 3DS.

The PS4 has been outselling the 3DS on a per month basis ever since it launched.

Below is the number of units the PS4 and 3DS sold world wide strictly in the year 2015.

The PS4 has currently sold 11.2 million units

The 3DS has sold 5.7 million.

So that's almost 2x more for the PS4 in the year 2015.

The PS4 will easily outsell the 3DS in LTD sales.

Not gonna need a price drop to since its already been outselling the 3DS on a month to month basis since it launched.

What don't you get? 3DS sales have peaked and they are far below PS4 monthly numbers.

"PS4 will never catch up?"

How the hell is the PS4 not gonna catch up when its been outselling the 3DS by 2x as many units per year?

"Meanwhile, Wii U will destroy the Vita."

Hahahaha, that's pretty sad when that is taken as an accomplishment. Just goes to show how much of a failure the Wii U really is.

Going with the Vita, Sony treats it like the redheaded step child, I do like mine though.

Wii U may not have sold super well, but Nintendo is giving it love at least.

PS4 is gonna easily outsell the 3DS in terms of lifetime sales by sometime in 2017.

PS Vita, obviously. The Wii U at least has a decent library. Most of the good games in the Vita's library are either re-releases/ports or only seem good because of the lack of actual good games on the system.

You could actually say the same for Wii-U library - it mostly relies on ports, or sequels. Why knock the Vita's "sequels" or console derived games, when the Wii-U's best games are Mario 3D World (derived from past Mario games, and from the 3DS game), Bayonetta 2 (sequel, and basically equal to a 360 game), and Mario Maker (which is basically throwback 16 bit game with level designer). Other than Splatoon, I'm reaching to think of a truly "original" Wii-U game, and I'm not sure Splatoon is all that briliant/original either.

Vita: 67 games rated AA or above on metacritic

Wii-U: 64 games rated at AA or above on metacritic

Crazily, the Vita actually has a more active release schedule than Wii-U - as well as an already better existing library by the numbers. Now despite the metacric numbers, I wouldn't say the Vita's library is actually better than Wii-U's. I would give the nod to Nintendo but it's not as big of a difference as Nintendo fanboys would think. Vita is a "deader" system, but it actually has a fuller release schedule.

IMO both of them have terrible libraries. Truly pathetic if compared to SNES or PS2, but also not really even close to PS3 or even (eventually) PS4/XB1.

Vita. It sold less than the Wii U.

No it didn't. Its still sold more than the Wii U.

Wii U 10.8 million units.

Vita 12 million

Vita's sales are at 10.5 million units worldwide. Where are you getting the 12 million number from?

Moreover, the Vita was on the market a full year more than the Wii U.
