You know whats even better with the Vita? it will be able to handle PS3 games and play at anytime via remote play on the vita, according to the artical it apears like PS3 will get an update to allow Remote play with the Vita and finish up your game at anytime, games like Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3, Killzone 3, Sly, MW3 and so on :o

"developers will be able to include Vita specific 480p modes, Eurogamer understands.Vita's OLED display is actually capable of displaying games at 960×544 pixel resolution.

Vita Remote Play is how Sony's new handheld interacts with the PS3."

Pretty cool feature - of course it's held back by the PS3's hardware in comparison to the Wii U's purported 1080p screen.

Edit: Wait, no it's not 1080p on the tablet.

That's a neat feature. The lag sucks though.

Heres hoping it wont lag like at times it happens with the psp, best was to connect directly via the PS3s own network but playing MW3 on Vita? yes!

If they use bluetooth it will probably lagg significantly. However if they use the wireless adapter for it then it would be much more manageable. the downside however is that you wont be able to use your wireless on the PS3 to go online.

Remote Play.

You're playing the game on your PS3, but instead of running it into the TV, you're running it through the PSV screen.

I would never find a use for a feature such as this. My gaming tv is seperate from my living area tv, so there's no competition over it.

Sorry, folks. The lag is half a second at minimum, which is beyond unplayable. Remote play is an interesting idea, but it's not realistic to use it for anything other than videos. Btw, the Vita can't stream games from the PS3 with any less latency than the PSP could. You can clearly see a huge amount of input lag if you watch the Killzone 3 remote play tech demo.

The point is to show that Sony still got it. (By "it" I mean the amazing ability to copy Nintendo, again!.)

Well, Sony's had this since like 2007 with the PSP so if anything Nintendo is copying Sony. The difference, though, is that the Wii U will actually WORK. Remote play has extremely high latency even over LAN.

Nice, remote play works well with psp and ps1 games on the ps3. I never noticed too much lag when I used it and the games were playable. I wonder how they will use r2/r3/l2/l3 buttons for ps3 games.

Exactly, yet people ignored the comment above them, stating the so-called PSP fiasco, thus argumentin it was done way before Nintendo. "It will work for Wii U" ? how do you know ? Seems to me remote play PS3>PSVITA will work pretty well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=GOvmZ57Faa4

This is pretty much OnLive right?

Same problems.

For some games, input lag doesn't matter as much though. Turn-based RPGs, creating LPB levels, etc.

why this is great ( for me personally speaking ), is when im tired of sitting on a chair, i can lay down on bed and play Mw3 online via the vita or uncharted and so on. only issue is i hope it dosent lag

Watch how the screen responds to his inputs. 1:25 is a good spot. There's a good bit of lag. It may not look like much, but that amount of lag translates into a very clumsy experience. He's having so much trouble aiming because of the latency. Vita Remote Play isn't going to be much better in terms of lags.

Why would i want to play via remote? Is not like i'm that desperate to play my PS3 (4 in the future) that i need to play them even at my work or while having breakfast...that's why i have a dedicate machine like Vita or 3DS without that feature.

You could play PS3 games over it with a half second of input lag. Vita will be the same experience with better control and resolution.

Might be a problem ! but lets give it a chance to arrive, before we a pass a judgement and then we can worry about how/if the PS4 interacts with the PSVITA.

nah you needed wires, but nintendo's been doing the whole "use handhelds on consoles" thing for decades. from transferring your team to pokemon stadium, to use the GBA as a second screen in four swords, to use the DS as a controller in pokemon battle revolution and now to the wii u. i picked pokemon because those are the easiest examples.

The rear touchpad can emulate L2/R2 if that's what you mean.

yeah i was brainstorming about that after reading the topic, and that's probably how they'll do it. but i meant the PSP's streaming, not the vita's. vita at least has a second analog.

This will certanly help for those games which would make specific use for the unqiue features in the PS Vita.

There is still the issue of game native code taking advantage of the tech n both PS3 and PS Vita hardware.

PS. ATM, this is all a rumor from Eurogamer. SCE have not officially responded to Eurogamer or anyone else yet if this feature is implemented yet.
