Wait a second... MGS4 beat Crysis Warhead in bes? Even GeoW 2 looks better. Why?

Is this the MGS4 I am playing right now that won best graphics for 2008? How did it beat Crysis Warhead let alone Gears 2. The graphics aren't bad but Crysis Warhead? Why did MGS4 win best graphics? That is absurd. I was expecting to be blow away by MGS4's graphics but it looks like junk.

Dunno. But im not sure about GeoW2 looking better than MGS... well its close I suppose, GeoW2 looks amazing. But MGS4 would probably win. Vs Crysis though... dunno. They tried it on a bad computer? I assume the awards dont mean quite that i guess... i guess they mean more like what game "looks" the best, not technical graphics? Looking the best is more of an opinion. Crysis being the best TECHNICALLY is not really an opinion.

There were separate categories for Best Technical Graphics and Best Artistic Graphics... so your statement is incorrect.

The only argument for MGS 4 winning is how it optimized its hardware to achieve the visuals.

I think its because Warhead was an expansion and it may have been unfiar after Crysis took that spot. Besides, GeoW2 looks better than MGS4? Are you crazy?

MGS4 is actually a good looking game... the attention to detail was certainly there. Not Crysis level, mind you, but bad by no means.

Have you played MGS4? Its easily the best looking game ive played. (I havent played Crysis 2 but eh, the first one was super boring) Part of the reason MGs4 has the best graphics in my opinion is because Kojima didnt only make the game look great but they did so down to the very tiniest details. I love popping off random shots and watching each individual casing eject out of the gun and hit the floor with their own unique sound and just lay there without disappearing. Tiny touches like that make it amazing for me. IDK you have to look at more than just how the surface looks when you actually consider graphics details. beinss

Yeah it does seem silly. MGS4 is a good looking game, but its not up there with the elite like Gears, Uncharted, God of War etc. To say it beats Crysis is just ludicrous .... unless you're talking art style only, in which case its all subjective.

I dont know if I would say GeoW 2 looks better. MGS4 still has some of the best character models in the business.

... you have to admit. The beauty and the beast gals were hot. They were impressive from a graphical standpoint, minus the faces... nobody liked those faces...

It was Best Technical Graphics, and the decision was formed on the basis that it was the most impressive offering that year considering the hardware it was running on...67gt500

That's a lame excuse from GS, as it really wasn't that impressive considering what the PS3 has put out since. Like I said GS are MGS fanboys, then again I guess they have to come up with an excuse every year the PC doesn't win.

I don't think any game deserves a 10, heck even a 9.9 I could agree with but no game is perfect and I don't care what GS defines as a 10.

Fixed your grammar, and your statement. Visually, Gears of War 2 isn't anything to get excited about, since MGS4, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, and now God of War 3 all look better than it.

Fun game? Yes, but it's not that much of a technical marvel compared to other games that have exceeded it.

MGS4 is still the best looking game out imo, and Yes I have played and Platinum'd the other 2 so called Console Graphics Kings, UC2 & KZ2.

Sony pays the big bucks me thinks. :P
