Who dares to argue that The Walking Dead delves deeper into various themes surrounding the human condition?

Who dares to argue that The Walking Dead has more well-developed characters than War and Peace?

Who dares to argue that The Walking Dead has better prose and metaphors than War and Peace?

Do you sincerely believe that The Walking Dead is better than War and Peace?

Do you have a disdain for anything non-American?

War and Peace is overrated, it was one of the longest and most boring books I ever read. Seriously some parts had absolutely nothing to do with the story, it was just irrelevant. The Walking Dead game and show do show the human condition, it shows the struggles and emotions.

War and Peace can be compared to a long conference meeting where you only get the message if you survive the boredom. The Walking Dead delivers the same message in an entertaning and far superior way.

No video game story is anywhere near Apocalypse Now (or any number of other films), either, but you'll always get idiots who say otherwise.

Bad writing, however, mars a book more than it mars a movie or game.

What book did you read recently? (off-topic, but I am curious)

You seem like you have taken a writing/ quasi-writing course before. (From what I observe)

What do you think of the recent winner of Nobel Prize in Literature?

I am reading one of his books now, and if you want to know my thoughts, I'd be glad to set up a thread in the OT.

Do you think I will waste time reading him (my time is limited)? Are you not curious about his works? I mean, they couldn't have given such a prize to just a mere writer.

I am in a hybrid-degree, by the way. It's some of sort of a combination of Business Writing, Lingusitics, and Literature. (There are, of course, writing subjects)

People these days may not look at writing as something much of a deal, but I insist this: Almost everyone can count, but to be a mathematician, you need to walk a continent-spanning distance, and the same thing applies to writing.

Without having read his work, I can't say for sure. Are you enjoying his book? Sure I'm curious. But I've also learned that just because a committee says something is great doesn't mean it is, or has any lasting value. I don't know if I'd go that far, but I think being able to write well is an important skill that many people don't acquire because little emphasis is put on it outside of academia.

To be specific, the Mo Yan's book I am reading right now is Red Sorghum, his most famous. I must say that his writing is brimmed with vividness. It's both very bright and dark at the same time (thus far). It reminds me of Blood Meridian in some ways.

Majora's Mask had a phenomenal story, sure it wasn't overly complex but its more emotionally enganging than some games today.
