I believe they've bitten off more then they can chew. Space marines demo was good, but it wasn't that great. It also did get a bit repetitive. They're not very smart for challenging one of the most pre-ordered games in history that includes a three year development time. Judging from the beta, it's going to be near impossible to surpass it. FlailingFirewhen did they ever say their challenging gears? their completely different games
Nothing in the demo made me think GEARS OF WAR!
Very wierd why peopel keep on mentioning this.
i no, it plays completely different, i dont get the confusionYah Gears tends to do that. Move one room and cover, shoot, move another room and over and shoot. Pretty much you just rinse and repeat the same action over and over. I disagree. It'd be boring if I was unable to wall bounce, have the variety of weapons, jump cover over onto an enemy and all the other variety of game modes. Gears has never really gotten boring for me, except Gears of war 2.[QUOTE="FlailingFire"]. It also did get a bit repetitive. alfy57
I don't see the connection between the two outside massive characters and them being TP. Space Marine reminds me more of Darksiders than Gears and even that is a stretch.

I just want to say that I AM 100% NOT one of those people who think Warhammer 40k: Space Marine (or WH40K in general) is a copy of anything. But I also cannot with good consience say that at least some parts in THIS particular video game -version were not inspired by other hit-games. But honestly back when Gears 1 was announced and shown, my first thought was "Whoa, is this a Warhammer 4K game?!." But, just because it's WH40K doesn't mean a *video game* based on it cannot possibly borrow stuff. Games Factory isn't very involved in this as far as I know.
Took this pic by myself, from Youtube-videos, so excuse me for the quality. The actual game has more in common with Dynasty Warriors, though, but at some moments its eerily similar to Gears Of War... NOT because it's a Third Person Shooter, but the way you actually maneuver and the way the HUD-menu looks:
EDIT: REMEMBER, scroll the image to the right to see the full image... On the left is Space Marine of course, on the right is the original GeoW.

I original GoW nearly looks superior.[QUOTE="tume-x"][QUOTE="Grawse"]

I original GoW nearly looks superior. Well, if you think so, it's probably because that Gears-shot is from the PC version. Please Log In to post.
