When Sony doesn't charge for online, charging for online is the worst thing ever. When Sony does and gives games to subscribers so long as they keep paying their fee, it's the greatest thing ever (even when the servers don't stay up).

When PS2 gets tons of quality games but is beaten in the graphics department by the GC and Xbox, graphics don't matter. When the PS3 and PS4 get the most theoretically powerful hardware, graphics are what define the quality of gaming.

I hate how ppl in this board hide behind the crap idea of exclusive, where the same game on 2 different platforms...1 owned by MS and the other by nobody....is the same as a game that's cross gen on 1 companies same brand...with the difference in the consoles being generational hardware.

i wouldn't say that any one of the three has higher standards for exclusives than the others. i'm really disappointed with the exclusives they've put out so far, there hasn't been one killer app to precipitate desire for a console.

so what if sony has more? release 100 more games with all the appeal of driveclub and see how that helps. instead, take a bit of time and release a really good gran turismo or something.

also, i can't believe the extent sony uses programmers to make PR statements, if i were a programmer in game development i wouldn't be compromising my credibility just to build hype for my employer's game.

It's only because Sony is the closest competitor to mirror Sega of old that many people like myself ended up favoring them over other competition now.

It isn't because Sony is the "omg, bbq sauce best ever" that Sony gets the praise they do, it's because they are the best we have left to choose from. When Sega got canned and stopped producing consoles I went with xbox before touching a PS console because I thought xbox was the successor to segas last console...I found out the hard way that couldn't be further from the truth.

genesis + Saturn + Dreamcast all great and had some of the best and most ambitious games ever made.

The reason why Sony gets praise is because they are the only one left still willing to take risks and show ambition when making games...but Sega was the one to push this hardest to deliver diverse, original and iconic games. And no not nintendo...they rely too much on old franchises to carry their sysetms.

FYI:

both SNES and genesis were great and had original games and I do realize genesis was the underdog in that gen but still produced fantastic games I was proud of.

It would because the majority of PS4s titles have not been received well and have reviewed as below quality titles. Outside of last generation ports and indie games their is only 1 game on the PS4s list to have received an AA or higher.

PS4 has nobody covered it makes you make 270 dollars year for ps3 games it didn't put any backwards compatibility can't run ps3 games has to stream them uglily thru PS now

the exclusive lineup is trash for a year 1, the online is still laggy and expensive at 50 dollars per year, you don't own any of the games if you cancel your sub its basically like you own nothing once canceled.

I usually expect people to buy next gen systems to play next gen games, other wise you can stick to your last gen system to play last gen games in terms of old ports, but are you recommending people go out and buy the Knacks, and Ryse's of game libraries just because they are available to you, what happened to the high standards that this thread is based on?
