Poll Was the xbox elite controller a success? want a ps4 version? (100 votes)
I left this open as a multiple choice poll. I love my elite controller, and I wish ps4 had their variant of one(without going through someone like scuf).
Thoughts sw?

@acp_45: Well then....aren't you the super duper radtastical badass of the forums.
nope you're mistaking.
It's because it's so easy that anyone can do it.
That's why my initial post was so sarcastic.
Don't underestimate yourself too much.
As awesome as the controller is, I couldn't see myself paying for it with my own money.
I have one, and blows the regular controller out of water but $150 is crazy.
I have trouble justifying $60 fir a second controller. There is no way I would ever pay $150 for a controller. That is at least $100 more than I'm willing to pay.
Plus, I like both my PS4 and X1 controllers just fine the way they are.
I ordered the Ryu Version the TES 2+ i believe?
@frank_castle I'm a casual gamer on my xbox one. I'm mainly using my elite controller for fallout 4 and forza 6 right now. I just like ability to customize everything to my liking and the controller's weight and feel feels better in my hand. So the whole casual gamers not buying these went right out the window. I have also been using it and getting used to it on my ps4. It's great with GTA V.
I wouldn't mind trying one some time and possibly buying it. Looks pretty nice.
They seriously need to demo them at game stores. I think the price point wouldn't be as much of an issue if you felt the quality of it.
BTW I love your sig.
Definitely the best controller I've ever had. Money well spent cause I don't go back to other controllers now. Sony should definitely look into making a controller like this for the PS4.
It all depends on how you measure success. MS doesn't give numbers, so it's probably more misleading nonsense. Release extremely limited supply, then say they are flying off shelves.
I don't see the need to spend 150 on a controller. It's the same thing with scuf controllers. I'm fine with my default PS4 controller. I will never spend that kind of money on a controller. Seems silly to me. To each his own tho.
it seems silly to you to spend money on the one part of the game system that gets the most physical usage? Im sure you buy your jeans from Walmart also.
Frank your opinion is worthless vs the fact that it's sold out world wide and will continue to be for the next couple months. I'd like one if I could find one, it's a total success and wildly popular everywhere
@daious: People using a mouse and keyboard will always destroy people using a controller. Is that mouse and keyboard legal in tournaments though ?

It is a sony certified controller. I have no idea.
I don't think MLG allowed the use of any controller but the default ones that come with the console. The competitive tournaments only provide their own controllers/systems to play.
@frank_castle: is that way its not in stock lol
So? The hell does that prove?
If you think they stock these things like regular controllers, then you're a jackass.

"Major League Gaming (MLG) also recently approved the use of the controller. “The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is approved for use by Major League Gaming for all competitive gaming activities and tournaments,” said Adam Apicella, Executive Vice President at MLG. “The customization options are great, showcasing the desired functionality required for pro level competition."

@spitfire-six:
I guess they approved it because it is an official controller. MLG does normally provide controllers at their inhouse competitions (no idea if that is true after Activision bought it out). I guess if everyone has an elite controller it negates the controller advantage.
@daious: There is more to it than just being an official controller or a sponsored controller it must still conform to these rules.
5. Equipment Restrictions: All player equipment is subject to approval by Sponsor. Sponsor will not permit the use of any equipment that may provide an unfair competitive advantage. Specifically, players may not use a Turbo controller, a Button Macro controller, a Wireless controller, or a Play and Charge Kit. Players may also not use a control that has been modified to allow for an alteration in a game character's abilities or any other game mechanics. Players are also not permitted to use a keyboard, mouse, or keyboard and mouse adapter. Players may make cosmetic changes to their controller. Teams are allowed to use their own gaming headset provided the headset does not require a USB connector or additional power. The Sponsor reserves the right to refuse the use of any equipment it deems inappropriate for the tournament.

Having trouble coping with the controllers success?
I guess your ONLY choice is to speculate on it's shipments. You have no choice but to assume they sent only 10 controllers out into the world as it eases your insane amount of butthurt.
Best controller on the market but then again it's really up to the individual but so far word of mouth has it being the best. Sucks to be you Frank
Yeah I saw the reveal for the elite controller and thought yeah I don't need that. I mean if it was an arcade stick I would have bought it but a special xbox one controller never appealed to me. There should have been an option for : No, I just kept using my base xbox one controller.
Well since you can use it on PC, PS4 and Xbox One that makes it worth it. Let alone you can configure it, put in different d-pad, analogs, add paddles, and use the hair lock triggers, makes that value even better.....And since you can use the 9ft usb cable to power the controller with out any batteries in it and still use it takes it leaps and bounds above the rest, especially if you use recharageable batteries like myself.
Got this controller day one at the mortor and brick Microsoft store, dude in front of me in line was on the phone with people saying they had them in stock he got 5, I got one of the last 3, in hind sight should of just bought all 3 lol
@flyincloud1116: why would they be lying .does that mean sony are lying about ps4 selling as well
No one said they were lying.
MS could have sold 100 or 100,000, either way they would be screaming success.
Keep saying to yourself, perhaps you'll believe it.
Damn why are cows so butthurt about Elite's obvious success?
Damn, why are Lems looking for anything to cheer about?
Keep looking you'll find a silver lining.
Success?
Lolz
Outside of a few incredibly dedicated, super-fanboys on videogame message boards like this....who the hell is buying this thing?
The average joe isn't lining up to pay $150 for this silly shit.
In fact, dating back to the early 80's, I've never once thought "Wow! If I could just ditch this controller that already comes with the console, and drop $150 on a "dedicated" controller....I'd REALLY be in business!!"
No sir. You see...I have a semblance of a brain in my skull.
Yet the stock for this controller has been completely depleted and they're on back order until spring.
Unless you know the exactly how many were produced, that marketing speak means nothing. It's what manufacturers have used for decades to generate interest. Disney, Nintendo, etc.
It's certainly possible they misjudged the market, but it's not the only possibility. It's in their best interest to keep stock low and demand as high as possible. I knew this years ago and I certainly knew they weren't going to flood the market with this controller when it was announced. It's business 101.
Let the consumers feel proud and special they got a hold of something "limited" and that they are lucky to own one for the MSRP of $150.

Just look at all the pro PS4 threads and you tell me why cows look for things to cheer about?
Silver lining is the controller being a smashing success. It just burns you fragile minded cows. Why is that?
It's hard to argue that it's been anything but a success... but personally, I prefer the normal controller.
I would never spend that kind of money for a controller. What a waste.
Gotta agree with that, $149.99 for a game controller is plain ridiculous (The standard X1 controller is already pricey enough).
The PS4 controller is great it's just the battery life that sucks. My group ordered higher MAH batteries that are made by the some company that made the batteries for the ps4 controller. We're going to test them out next week. Supposed to be twice the battery life.

So is the price is your only complaint?
