They really phoned it in on the New 3D Mario World... its quite depressing that they didn't seem to put any effort into recreating the magic of Super Mario 64 or SMG 1 & 2.

Most of it's games feel like Wii games but in HD.

I think it would be better if WiiU was just a optional and cheap add-on for Wii.

So far, I don't really see why this system should exist.

The 1st party games would run on the Wii in SD and the 3rd party ports don't captivate anyone.

Add to that a relatively high price (compared to current-gen competitors), last gen hardware (Power 750 is very old tech) and lacking 3rd party support and there's even less reasons for the system.

Perhaps my opinion will change once the games that actually look like they couldn't be done properly on Wii (e.g. Project X, MK8, tech demo Zelda) but those titles are still several months or years away.

The system was just poorly planned from the beginning, imo.

They sure would, but I'm sure Sony pays them nicely since their games move consoles. People only buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games, and hte idea of spend over $400 just to play a handful of games is absurd.

Not many people bought a Vita just for Persona, as evident by Vita's horrible sales. The people buying PS4/XBone at launch aren't just buying them for exclusives, they're buying them for 8 years worth of some of the best games in the industry that will never be found on a Wii U.

Nintnedo needed to finally have an HD console, but the WiiU hasn't been the asnwer they were looking for.

Was there even a need for the PS4?  The X1?  A new GPU for your PC?

They needed a new console.. but not one as weak as the one they delivered...  and def not for THE PRICE OF IT!! If that things is equal or slightly better than my ps3.. i want an equal or SLIGHTLY more expense price.  I won't buy one until a price drop.. .simple as that.  It isn't worth it otherwise.

Would prefer if Nintendo just went third party, and I could get their stuff on better hardware. Their consoles are incredibly misguided, and their libraries are extremely weak with such little third party support.

Their handheld business model is excellent, but their handheld games are like filler in comparison to what that company can do on consoles. Regardless I'll be tolerating the nonsense that is WiiU for some Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 excellence. Plus at the least Pikmin 3 and nintendos usual outings of "another f*cking Mario/Zelda/Metroid/Smash Bros" should be fun in their own right.

Suddenly? HD in 2006 wasn't anywhere near the near necessity it is today. As time progresses typically the standard and expectations do too.

It completely destroys your "Nintendo should go 3rd Party" route because every game developer can greatly benifit from going 3rd party.

1st party is only there to move units.

kinda like how PS3 and 360 games were just PS2 and Xbox games with Better Graphics? Come on man, get real.

Plus the WiiU hardly has a need for it's motion controllers. A Total of 2 games need it for my WiiU and 1 of them hardly uses the motion at all, it's just there for Multiplayer support.

wiiU should have been the console launched in 2006 , with a normal controller of course
