Watch Dogs and Beyond: Two Souls proof we don't need "next-gen" consol

Safe for Nintendo, these two new IPs are proof that this current generation of consoles still has a lot to give in terms of graphical presentation. I believe that in previous generations, developers have never really maximized the technology at that time. These games show that there is still much to do and give. Looking forward to them. What are your thoughts?

Oh yeah...add Halo 4 into that mix.

Watch dogs is proof we DO need a new playstation and xbox.

All we've seen of Beyond is a movie, no gameplay so you don't even know how it'll look.

Watch Dogs looked amazing so getting that for PC and Beyond was Beyondful I was just blown away by both.

The fact most games are dong scripted events after scripted events, to improve visuals, show we need next gen consoles soon.

What I'm trying to say was that there are a lot of console owners that want next gen to begin already. Sure AC3 looks amazing but at what cost: there is loads of pop-in.

And I really can't agree with your last sentence. CoD gets milked because millions buy it each year. It has nothing to do with consoles, lots of PC gamers buy CoD too.

There not being a Half Life 3 has nothing to do with consoles either, it's all valve's doing.

I don't get it. Why wouldn't you want next generation consoles? It's new start, it's exciting, and it will certainly have games with better graphics (not only appealing to the eye, but more advanced features that developers will take advantage of) and possibly better performance.

Money can't be the issue here, because gaming as a whole isn't exactly cheap, you know what you're getting yourself into wen you're getting into this hobby.

New, way more potent consoles are needed, that is all.

Most of those games don't look much better than what you already got and RE6 was getting framerate issues..(go to the scene where he throws the grenade down the stairs).

Screen tech needs to advance before higher resolutions can be introduced to the mainstream.

Good chance that Watch Dogs was running on the PC and is intended for next-gen hardware. Beyond also had 0 gameplay so they could devote 100% of system resources to graphics.

I'd say we need NEW consoles

Judging by all the Wii U interest ...

Not everyone is ready to buy whats next but they wanna see whats next

No way next gen consoles will aim higher than that.

Going from 720p and less to 30fps and less, all the way to 1080p at 60fps, real AA, DX11 etc, would be the absolute best they should aim for.
Even on PC 2560X1440/1600 is a pain on the GPU for some games. Aiming for that on next gen consoles would be a complete waste of ressources.

I'd say that Call of Duty is because gamers who buys it out of ignorance and sheep mentality.Same for ¤¬¦¤²@² DLC...
Pretty much the effect of casualisitation I'd say.
Same reason some why some don't want new consoles, I've seen it a lot personnally and it is because they have NO idea that consoles are not cutting edge anymore and things can be much better.

We could use new consoles, both with massive ram updates and standard Blu-ray and HDDs. Minor upgrades to the processors and GPUs are all that is really needed.

Right now, graphical fidelity isn't the issue, it's interactivity and physics being only basic in most games that are really holding games back. That being said, even if the tech were better there is no reason to think developers would make better games, because they don't seem to be trying as it is.

Watch dogs made me realize how current gen is outdated lol and I'm one of the people who insist that graohics are not important but man that game was the only thing that wowed me so far in this E3 gameplay wise + graphics wise.
