Watch Dogs for PC Looks Like E3 Footage Now!

Nope, it's not just DoF. There's also Fog, Improved rain and reflections, bloom, Headlights now casts shadows and light the rain drops, better looking water, and better ambient occlusion.

I don't know if it fixes the stutter, since I never had any. But I did get some extra frames.

if you turn DoF off the visual improvements are still pretty noticable. Better reflections, wind is way better, and shadows are way better. The lighting is different but not necessarily better.

again, show comparison pics. i showed you the only pics i was able to find in that entire neogaf thread. they showed no differences other than DOF and sweetfx style color changing.

edit - im aware of the broken headlight shadows and nuclear levels of bloom. im referring to all the other claimed improvements.

Doesn't look so amazing to me. I guess water look better? I seen last gen game with better water however.

I wish they unlock better gameplay instead.

from the random screens users are posting the water looks the same as retail version. only game ive seen with better water is the ocean tech in black flag. the water is the only part of watch dogs that doesnt look crusty.

The only improvements I'm looking for in the mod are the headlight shadows and better reflections. Otherwise, I like the changes I made (before the mod) better which included turning Brightness down to zero.

sony must have begged them to downgrade the pc version so it'll more closely resemble what the game would look like on the outdated ps4 hardware. i'm honestly quite shocked at sony's depravity.

The screenshots I posted earlier at night with the mod were mostly concerned with the headlight shadows which were missing before. Otherwise, my other screenshots in this thread were without the mod, especially the fog and rain. You must mean someone else.

If PC games sold more they would be optimized better. Don't blame consoles because PC sales are the minority percentage of big budget games.

PS4 has a tiny install base and dwarfed the PC version in sales. Put your wallets where your mouths are.

It's not that the PC market sucks. It's that big companies like Ubisoft and EA are fucking stupid and can't figure out that PC gaming demands a higher quality game than shitty console ported menu's and games with dumbed down console controls. Look at companies like Blizzard, Riot, and Valve. They do PC right and they make a killing doing it.

GTA5's release on consoles and subsequent PC release is following the exact same pattern which has been established with the series for over 10 years, since they were first introduced on consoles, before the series became anywhere near the sales behemoth that it is now. It has nothing to do with sales. It's just how Rockstar handles the franchise. Got any other stupid examples?

So many butthurt fanboys in this thread . The game definitely looks better . All of these features were already in the game's engine , turned off by UBISOFT to make it closer to visuals of PS4 and X1 . Now modders are finding all these options and turning them on .

This is just a start , and they have yet to unlock other options . In a week or two , the game is going to look phenomenal . Not only that but these updates also improves the game performance a lot . I think the game's lead platform was PC , (as they said after E3 reveal) but later they switched it to PS4 because Sony paid them and then Ubisoft downgraded the PC version in the process .

Now it has Toy Story 2 graphics, sick!

Definitely looks better than the PS4 version I bought. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone really. Thinking the PS4 can match the visuals of a good computer is asinine. A lot of DC going on in here.

I will giver credit where its due. My platform of choice is still the PS4, I'm just not sticking my head in the sand and denying that PCs are capable of visuals beyond the PS4.

It's actually a really big improvement but that DOF is god awful, turn it completely off!! My eyes don't blur everything like that is why is the game?

I have this for my Xbox One, and it looks great. Honestly though that new mod does look a lot better on PC.

The modder just updated it, with customized DOF settings. You can also completely turn off the effect by turning off DOF in the settings menu, while keeping all the other improvements. Here's some pics I took (some pics are on all high, some on all ultra, with temporal SMAA--getting stable 30fps on my 7870):
