it's no news that sony's gained a loyalty among lots of gamers this last decade, to the detriment of another big company like Nintendo.

ps1 and ps2 totally did tabula rasa and still nowadays people have "playstation" in mind when they hear the word "videogames"

Many games and new Ip's were delivered to the gaming world thanks to Sony.

Then Microsoft decided to put a spoke in its wheels by realizing earlier a next-gen console, while the Wii decided to keep away from the two colossuses and went "casual".

Ps3 had a very slow start and disappointed many gamers, even the most attached to the Sony brand. the price was crazy, fistful of games that couldn't satisfy them made many of them switch to the Ms's console. Until Sony started dropping his first bombs ( Mgs4) and xbox 360 owners started shaking..then other big games followed + price cut and Uncharted 2, the shaking turned into a heartquake.

Despite Sony's big losses, despite the recession, despite everything, Sony's been pursuing that goal that has been its strong point since their very first console: deliver to their costumers great games and make them happy.

That's why we love Sony.

i only loved them when they had ps1, ps2 wasnt even in 2nd place for me last gen. it was dream cast, xbox then ps2 then gc. ps2 just had all the support. but the load times were so bad on the ps2 i quit console gaming and played mmos until this gen came out.

because they did disappoint a lot of gamers. I only play the ps3 if there are some exclusives that I like..but that's just it. ps1 and ps2 delivered endless hours of fun, even with first party titles. that is the difference.

I like how they keep supporting good quaility first party studios and how they keep supporting their customers with free and cheap options for upgrades even when they keep losing money. They could have followed the M$ example and charge for evey single thing and close all their first party support to spend their money buying timed exclusivity but they didn't. They are commited to their own vision. They are a very good company in my view and I will continue supporting them for as long as they keep delivering such a great option.

i think sony does have loyal customers without that i can find any reason how they made it this far especially with a bad launch. to me anybody with a ps3 only or who got one at launch are brand loyal customers honestly why else would they buy a ps3 for 600 at the time

they should stop being loyal and buy a 360 make a change

All any company loves is money. Some are blatant others well hidden. When you convince yourself a company cares about you, you have fallen for their BS. But if it helps you sleep at night, go ahead.

Because it was the best option. Trust me if Sony turns the M$ on us and starts milking us charging for online and overpriced Sony accesories then I would simply kiss them goodbye and keep playing on my PC and last gen consoles. Sony gave a system that was selling at a loss even at launch with the best and cheapest BluRay on the market, a complete multimedia center and a gaming machine. I think the price was justified even if it looked high for a gaming machine since the ps3 was always meant to be much more than only that. Besides I had no doubt Sony was going to deliver in the quality titles department, they just had trouble with the PS3 launch and needed more time. Actually many 2007 titles were pretty cool.

Yes yes I love Sony for its exclusive games but I wish Sony was more aggressive with multiplat games in that the developers actually use the cell architecture as opposed to the pc architecture and actually use the extra space of the blu-ray disc. The other qualm I have I wish Sony would of have remove the hypervisor for Linux since Linux is a pretty good operating system and more stable than Windows. Overall is pretty good when it comes to games customer service and delivering all the free entertainment that the pc provides for your hdtv set.

well, this is the 2nd gen they've had the weakest console(SNES). and don't think super mario is the only good game on the wii, there are many more, you just need to find them;) oh, and the ps2 had a lot of shovelware too...

But did it have the best games out at the time no did have a good online no . microsoft may milk u but they do more to keep u coming back microsft has better 3rd party dev support ,better community features i could careless about this new update but xbox live featuress such as party chat and voice messaging makes u feel more connected i wont say games because that depends on the person. sony does not do more for there customers than microsoft . but with that said if u play consoles buy a 360 if u play games it can go either way

stop being loyal they do not deserve it

I already have a pretty good PC (in fact I just got Dragoin Age for it and I can't wait to start it) and I have been thinking about getting a Wii, I don't think it's as bad as people make it to be and there are quite a few games I would like to play. I think nintendo is a pretty good company too is just that I usually only have time for one console and I prefer the PS3 but I wouldn't mind having a Wii. I won't come close to the 360 though, I think that system is the most milking, unreliable piece of hardware ever created.

it's no news that sony's gained a loyalty among lots of gamers this last decade, to the detriment of another big company like Nintendo.

ps1 and ps2 totally did tabula rasa and still nowadays people have "playstation" in mind when they hear the word "videogames"

Funny, I'm not shaking, and I certainly havent had any "heartquakes"... In fact, I am still very happy to only own a 360. Have a nice day.

i think sony does have loyal customers without that i can find any reason how they made it this far especially with a bad launch. to me anybody with a ps3 only or who got one at launch are brand loyal customers honestly why else would they buy a ps3 for 600 at the time

they should stop being loyal and buy a 360 make a change

coltgames

I'm loyal because they deserve it for me unlike Microsoft. Once they stop deserving it I'm going to stop being loyal.

Ppl should love consoles, not companies. I really liked PS1 and PS2, this gen i find 360 a better console.

it's no news that sony's gained a loyalty among lots of gamers this last decade, to the detriment of another big company like Nintendo.

ps1 and ps2 totally did tabula rasa and still nowadays people have "playstation" in mind when they hear the word "videogames"

Funny, I'm not shaking, and I certainly havent had any "heartquakes"... In fact, I am still very happy to only own a 360. Have a nice day.

I was not talking individually. but how many 360 owners want to play sony's first party titles games? I'd say a lot.

you'll see, you'll switch to PC gaming and nintendo next gen...

and 360 gamers such as myself got rewarded as well:

halo 3(ODST)

fable 2

forza2/3

GeOW(2)

etc..

and so did wii owners:

super mario galaxy

zelda:TP

metroid prime trilogy

no more heroes(2)

i rest my case.

seeins how Pc gaming is being "treated" lately, I see it only getting worse in the future.

it's all about money. they make more profit with console, hence the Pc plays a secondary role. the best system playing a secondary role.. now that is ironic and stupid. People are stupid. Pc should deserve a lot more attention.

yes, i suppose having the best game each gen since they started making consoles is bad isn't it:roll:and so is doubling gamers, something both pss failed to do.honeslty like someone said before, these companies like money. the one who most likes money is sony and the least is ninty

gamedude234

I do love Super Mario, but seeing Nintendo reduced to some old hardware and lots of shovelware hurts so much. they could be the best company, I wish they were.

well, this is the 2nd gen they've had the weakest console(SNES). and don't think super mario is the only good game on the wii, there are many more, you just need to find them;) oh, and the ps2 had a lot of shovelware too...

are you high? the snes dominated the genesis, up one side and down the other.

as for sony, i loved my ps1 and ps2 but after watching the ps3 get off to a rocky start im glad i waited for all the good stuff to kick in before i got one. i don't think psn will ever be pay to play, but i can see them implementing premium services like guaranteed beta codes, discounts, free additional content etc.

you didn't get what i was thinking. he said that he would switch to PC if sony start charging extra(online) so they will probably charge for PSN next gen, so he'll probably swith to PC/nintendo gaming. got it?

i was talking about POWER. the genesis was more powerful than the SNES(even though i loved the SNES my 1st console:D). ike the ps3/360 is more powerful than the wii.

yeah sorry, I got it now. but when you think about it, in some year the new Nintendo console + Pc could be the winning combination.

[QUOTE="RedruM_I"]I like how they keep supporting good quaility first party studios and how they keep supporting their customers with free and cheap options for upgrades even when they keep losing money. They could have followed the M$ example and charge for evey single thing and close all their first party support to spend their money buying timed exclusivity but they didn't. They are commited to their own vision. They are a very good company in my view and I will continue supporting them for as long as they keep delivering such a great option.finalstar2007

shame PSN is now going to be paid:roll: cows lose something else.XBL now the best online confirmed.and sony are the company with least ethics, a thread was made about it a few weeks ago...

Nope you got it wrong, PSN will always be free just as it is now BUT new service will probably add more stuff for those who pay for it.. as i said the service we know it now will always be the same

.......and God himself couldn't sink this ship! Easy with those always predictions, pal. Anything can change, and it usually happens when someone gets cocky. I like my PSN free.
