That's because you don't play games on a high end PC. Comparing compressed videos and screen shots to actually playing games in all their glory are two completely different experiences.

My GPU is rated for 5.04 Teraflops at stock clocks (mine is over clocked) and I'll struggle to more than 40 frames per second in my hangar on max settings at 1440p. Star Citizen still has at least a year before release and a long way to go before the graphics are finalised, which generally happens around the end of Alpha testing.

It takes a lot of money to make a game run better on PC as opposed to porting from console standards. People are going to either buy or not buy it either way so why put a bunch of extra time into the PC version for minimal extra profits?

While it sucks as PC hardware is rarely maxed out before new, bigger, better cards come out, but that's what comes with PC gaming. There are a few games that take advantage, but most games are just slightly better ports with adjustable options to scale.

So this game simply won't run on anything but PC's several times stronger than the PS4? It looks amazing and UT is literally the shit, but it doesn't look a generation ahead of the PS4. It looks more like a step further than a gen further. In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if Gears Of War 4 on Xbox One looked as good as this since it's running on UE4 too.

I think Star Citizen really is close to what Crysis was back then.

Then again, I can run it at a pretty solid 60 fps so either it's much more optimized or really isn't what Crysis was.

For example, the PS4 is 12x more powerful then the PS3, but do its games look 12x better? So its unrealistic to expect PS4 games to look 50% better then the Xbox One.

Hermits should understand that this applies to them too, even if they have 4x more power then the PS4 their games wont necessarily look 4x better

What I would like to see is advancements in physics and object/environment interaction. I want to see more procedural animation. I want developers to make full use of PhysX. Unfortunately, PhysX is exclusive to Nvidia and the consoles don't support it. So, not many developers are willing to make a PC exclusive title that will take advantage of it. It's a shame, because that really is the next-gen of games. Integrating those things with VR is the next step too.
