They could stop worrying about a problem that has been around since the beginning of the industry (and for centuries in other media) and focus on delivering quality titles without harassing their customers...

... but I imagine they will move towards cloud gaming. Fail.

Piracy has existed for years and in numerous industries. At the end of the day, reward the legitimate consumers. If a customer was going to buy a gme, I very much doubt they'll be like "OMG, no DRM. I can totally download this for free now."

Nobody will ever be able to protect their software

But they can protect their investment by not alienating legit consumers by making their products not function.

Did you know that piracy of computer programs / games dates back to the 1980s?

Make all games onine/cloud-based...?

At the place I live, there used to be a local game dev that sold walkthrough books twice more than game copies (the consumers were willing to pay for the books but not the games -_-). Now that dev had been shut down, and off-line single player games made by local dev are nearly extinct here.

There is GoG....I got TW2 from there. Has no DRM at all. lol @ Steam and Origin and GFWL. Sadly other devs would never put a new release game on GoG just because it wouldn't have DRM..

Some form of multiplayer that needs you online (like battle.net) where even if u take the game illegaly you can't play on the official servers. Multiplayer Achievements (I personally dont care about that but some people do) if you are offline you can't get achievements info real time. Achievements or even the thing NFS did where it checks online your facebook friends and compares scores.. Basically anything that has a online foncitonality that helps devs detect if the game is legal or not. Plus DRM is stupid because people that pay the game get the ugly part of the coin. And has there been any DRM that wasn't bypassed anyways...

I think they should just remove DRM, and accept the fact that piracy exists.

Pirates probably make up like 5% or less of gamers.

I don't think the other 95% should be punished and be hassled just because of that 5%.

All future games will be MMORPGs with required internet connection. Piracy solved until server files are duplicated and private servers are created.

Piracy is unbeatable.
