What announcements and reveals do you hope to see in 2022?

I'm hoping for Persona 6. Been too long since Persona 5 came out (2016/2017). How much more time do they need?! Also, as much as I think this may never happen, still waiting for MGS reboot. But Konami seems to have gone off the deep end. Just sell the franchise to Sony already! Hmm that would make a good announcement. Sony announces ownership of MGS franchise.. nah, that ain't happenin'.

How about you, SW? What announcements and reveals do you hope to see in 2022?

Aside from obviously HFW for PC and XCOM 3, eh. Let them surprise me.

XCOM 3.. makes me sad it's been so long since the last one. Are they even working on a 3?

Well, the XCOM team is currently working on Marvel's Midnight Suns... ...but the Civ team is currently suspiciously quiet. Maybe the Civ team is subbing in for the XCOM team?

At least, I bloody hope so. I really, really want an XCOM 3.

I want a next gen Monster Hunter game and Dragon's Dogma 2. Come the **** on Capcom.

The collapse of the industry.

Right now, many of the things I would like to see we already know are coming, so right now I don't know what else. A sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy that more or less is coming? Spyro 4 or the next Crash Bandicoot game? Another Mega Man collection game (Legends specifically), Starforce or Battle Network sequel, or just a new game in general? I can't really say.

A new Bloodborne game would be an awesome reveal into 2022 or if possible a PC port for that matter. Assuming E3 2022 in-person happens, that would make E3 worth the reveal on the stage.

A bunch of stuff I’d love to see announced. From the very unlikely to the very likely. Some stuff off the top of my head would be:

- a sequel to Chrono Trigger/Cross

- Legend of Dragoon 2

- Monster Hunter World 2

- Dragon’s Dogma 2

- Gears of War 6

- Final Fight Remake

- Xenoblade Chronicles 3

You might get the Chrono Cross remake! And we already talked about this, but Xeno 3.. I have a feeling it will happen. It's time.

@SolidGame_basic: Yeah definitely heard the rumours for both the Chrono Cross Remake and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. XC3 seems very likely.

As for unannounced maybe the Witcher 4

Hopefully we get to see (and maybe play) Metroid Prime 4. The restart was announced in Jan 2019 so maybe even a reveal in 2022 with a release in March 2023?

Xenoblade Chronicles 3/X2 would also be great. 2 was a dud imho but everyone gets a dud. 1 and X were great and if 3/X2 delivers that will be another 100 ish hours of fun gaming for me. So fingers crossed :).

Other than that: a surprise would be good. I love when a game comes out of nowhere and makes me sit up and pay attention.

@SolidGame_basic: I think the MP4 logo was shown in 2017 but (i just checked an IGN article) development restarted in Jan 2019. So next year will be the start of year 4 of development. Really by march 2023 it should be out the door. if it's not then either the game is stuck in development hell or Nintendo are moving it to be a lunch title for the switch 2...possibly.

Yes on a Xenoblade X port also. It's such a shame it's stuck on the wiiu. Great game. Its basically the last reason to even have a wiiu at this stage (i say this as a wiiu owner) :P.

Sequels and remasters seems to be the ongoing theme here. No wonder gaming is plagued with so many sequels and remaster instead of newer IPs.

Not that I don't agree with you, but getting new IP games are still in-development phase and it's gonna be a long time before we see them in action. Upcoming new IP games like Ghostwire: Tokyo, Pragmata, Black Myth: Wukong, to name a few from the top of my head. We know new games are coming, we just don't know when so sequels, remasters, & even Indie games are always gonna be fillers. I'm always in for new IP games, they're just taking a loooong time to see any reveals these days and always expect delays too.

Well, I hope to see Final Fantasy VIII remake, Golden Sun remake, Persona 6, Tekken 8, Tekken Tag Tournament 3, The Last of Us 2 Multiplayer. And yes, a lot of this looks unrealistic, but I hope it happens in 2022.

Tony hawk 3-4 remake. Tony hawk games from 3 and 4 and underground 1 and 2 are some of my all time favorite games and 1-2 was such a great remake but 3 and 4 are such better games. We need a 3-4 remake now. Also just hope and also expect spiderman 2 ps5 gameplay. Also dying for a new DK game been way way to long sense tropical freeze and the game is a flat out master peace. A bigger astro bot game. The built in ps5 game was great but really short need like a full longer game. Last at least 1 new great looking Sony IP.

I'd like to hear less about remakes and more about new IPs. I can appreciate remakes but am also getting a bit bored with the idea of playing a bunch of games I've played before.

The main one would be new 3D Mario game, hopefully Odyssey 2.

Why on earth would you want an MGS "reboot"?

MGS has one of the longest running continuities in videogames without being ruined. There is literally no reason to "reboot" the franchise. Just make "Metal Gear Solid Zero" (which remakes MG1 and 2) and fills in gaps between MGS5 and MGS1.

It's really not about story. It's about gameplay and giving us a modern version of the games!

I’d like to hear about the next generation of video cards, with plenty in stock upon release, and with reasonable MSRPs.

Sadly those days where that was attainable are probably behind us for good.
