What are Gamespot editors smoking? Metro 2033 not in Technical Graphics Awards..

Because no Wii game was that impressive. In the expanded Reader's Choice category they included a PSP game though. Also note how the PC version of Just Cause 2 was nominated.

It only does that if you have vsync on.

Played the first few minutes of Metro 2033 and took some screens. The quality of these images has been impacted due to compression, afterall, each image was over a few MBs and now less than a few hundred KB. Did that to conserve space and not to overload imageshack. lol Anyways, enjoy.

I'm also using EVGA precision though, which adjusts the fan speed to correlate with how hot it's getting. Do you ever change the fan speed?

Unfortunately, I think they omitted it because it's a multiplat that only looks great on one platform. If it had only been released for PC I think it may have made it. Then again, the awards tend to cater to console gaming so...

well, GS gives the graphics awards out based on the hardware they are running on, And since the ps3 and 360 are very close in power, and those 2 games looking better than MGS 4, leads me to conclude that one of those 2 games should have won :D

You actually take the awards and reviews on this site seriously? Black ops and Reach should've scored no higher than a 7.5 for being generic run of the mill shooters but sites need to put up good reviews to keep fans happy. Metro is the greatest looking game i've ever played, even on my mid-range rig. It deserves the reward, but gamespot employees are too busy playing mainstream console games that aren't even fun.coolmonkeykid

Crysis ran badly but as opposed to metro it wasn't a linear FPS but an open world game and 8 series cards ran the game fine for the most part :P.

The problem with Metro is that its an unoptimised disaster (It even runs poorly on an i7 for pete's sake). It was clearly rushed to compete with Crysis on who can make the worst badly coded, graphic hungry mess the most.

The whole awards are a joke, Red Dead Redemption has better writing and voice acting than Mass Effect 2?

I wouldn't take any awards seriously from this place. They also think Demon's Souls is a better RPG than Dragon Age Origins.

it has nothing to do with what looked better. games can looked great and still have poor or mediocre graphics

uncharted, gears of war 2, HL2:ep2, far cry 2, STALKER clear skies, all had better graphics than MGS4. not to mention factually crysis warhead had the best graphics of that year.

poor shadows

poor AA

if they want to say it looked the best thats great thats their opinion. but to make a catagory called best graphics (which refers to techto begin with) technical, and give the award to a game that factually doesnt have the best graphics, but in reality has some of the worst? that insulting to gamers and anyone with an ounce of intelligence

I'm sure the PS3 will get plenty of quality games next year, but lists are only nice when they interest you. And the PS3's list doesn't have many things that interest me.

Well what's coming for 360? Neither console has many games that interest me either, but I'd say Gears 3 is the only non-multiplat I'm aware of for 360 that I'll be getting for sure next year.

God of War III's graphics are JOKE, a laughing stock, compared to PC Metro 2033. How is PS3's 5 year old crappy graphics chip running at lame 720P resolutions going to compare with PC's with DX 11 HD 5700/5800/6800/6900/GTX 400/500 graphics chips running games @ FULL HD 1080P. I didn't realize that the PS3 was made of magic that it can somehow gererate better graphics then PC Metro 2033. God War III doesn't even have DX 11 effects, tesselation, the list goes on and on that it's quite pathetic. Goes to show Gamespot editors don't know JACK about graphics or either that they run all their games on Intel Integrated graphics. LOL. Metro 2033 pwns God War III in graphics that it's not even funny.

Yearly Best Awards used to have merit now it's a laughing stock. I remember back in the day when the best graphics actually won like PC's Unreal Tournament 2003 in the year 2002. Now it's just a sad joke. Any idiot with a half a brain can see that Metro 2033 is the 2ND best looking game in the world right now after Crysis. Gamespot editors are so much fail.
