What Are Some Things MS, Sony, and Nintendo Did That Positively Impacted Gaming This Gen?

To you, what are some things all three companies did this gen that had a positive impact on gaming?

To me. Nintendo really added a new light to the handheld market

Xbox GamePass is a VERY useful service

And PSVR is a win in console gaming.

In the interest in SW harmony because ya'll know that's just what I do here ;P I can go along with what you said.

Nintendo = Creating an awesome portable and home console all in one.

Xbox = Creating awesome services like GamePass and releasing all 1st party content on PC

Sony = Developing such great 1st party exclusives and pushing the envelope on the hardware that we have.

This pretty much is what I would say, maybe add PSVR for Sony

MS definitely gamepass PS4 for continually sticking with vr which I think will get bigger as the quality improves.

Yeah, i can get behind the part about Sony also :). It's undeniable that Sony has put out some quality 1st party content this gen.

Showing fanboys and companies who fight about power that it's really all about games in the end.

Nintendo: They actually pulled off a great device with the Switch. It works very well and is soundly constructed.

MS: Services, services, services. Great meat.

Sony: Games. Great meat. Also, really love the DS5, great controller.

With the part about Sony, I agree about the games. However, I assume you mean DS4? Cuz as far as I am aware, there is no announced DS5 yet.

If so, I personally disagree. MS did a much better job with controllers IMO. Sony could benefit greatly from putting their analogs in the natural thumb positions.

letting me do manual back up of all games saves to usb and also proper game saves online.

Sony - share button and Shareplay, along with streaming, really brought something forward.

PS VR

Microsoft - TV?

I kid, backwards compatibility is great.

Nintendo - consolidating their portable and home console into one great and versatile machine

Sony focusing on great single player games.

PS and Nintendo made it obvious great SP games can compete for gamers money with things like Overwatch and Fortnite being huge. GoW and BOTW really showed both mp and sp have a market. The Witcher 3 and RDR2 did also.

MS showed that services are a welcome part of a platform with gamepass. And their support of the best MP Halo ever has been awesome.
