We all know what the usual suspects are when it cones to best console graphics discussions. What are the great games, graphics wise, that rarely enter the conversation though? First time I saw Devil May Cry 4 I was shocked at how beautiful and crisp the game is. I also think, (because of Rage and Crysis 2's performance issues), that Castlevania: LOS may be the overall best looking multiplat. What other games deserve at least an honorable mention in the graphics discussion?

The only thing that was impressive about DMC4 is how it ran on my computer.

That was brilliant.

Demon's Souls, it's no graphics king but it's always critizised for its graphics which are actually quiete decent.

Uncharted 1. It's really just Uncharted 2+screen tearing. Some parts even look better IMO

Wipeout HD is gorgeous, but I don't like the racing as much as past wipeout games.

Deinitely Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Portal 2 for me. Seeing some of the animation in Portal 2 was like :O Then Lords of Shadow just had some incredible atmosphere and sharp images.

ALL RACING GAMES!!!!! Seriously, whenever we talk graphics for some reason racers are never mentioned and they are usually tech marvels.

Kameo- Saw the demo at target and the next day drove almost 400 mmoles to get an 360 (arcade version)

Blazeblue- I still love great 2D

Motorstorm Apocolypse (I think it is more action than racer)

Mortal Kombat 2011- The art and backgrounds are pure awesome sauce.

Halo Reach- Again- They just updated the look of the series without making it look like a different game.

Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption deserve a mention.

But the 2 games that should be in every conversation when it somes to graphics are Mirrir's Edga and Wipeout HD/Fury. Games are lookers!

Resident Evil 5 and/or Enslaved.

Also, like someone else mentioned, Reach. A few parts of it look absolutely average but dose skyboxes and character models? Mmmmm....

Tomb Raider Underworld:

Empire Total War: The amount of soldiers plus all the gunfire makes even shogun 2 easier to run

Mass Effect 2 has incredible film-like quality to the camera angles and lighting direction

I really enjoyed the visual style of Borderlands. The cartoony look is combined with a brutal, dark and bloody world for a really unique feel.

Far Cry 2 has always been under appreciated, Mirror's Edge is a stunne when it comes to presentation, Mass Effect 2 has a really cinematic feel for in game scenes, Red Dead Redemption looks beautyful and of course Battlefield Bad Company 2. I only own a 360 and all of these games looked really nice

Yeah Portal 2 and Mirror's Edge for me as well. Valkyria Chronicles has an awesome style to it. I also thought Tron Evolution has nearly as good graphics as seen in the movie.

Ratchet and clank A crack in time... campzor

I second this. Great looking game, which is even more impressive because it runs at 60fps.

I'll throw in Resistance 3 as well, the art is fantastic and the quincunx AA and film grain go extremely well with the art style. Reminds me a lot of Killzone 2.

Mirror's Edge, people always whining about the baked lighting... While Crysis gets praise for being all real time, and managing ugly in a ton of areas.

More games should use pre-baked lighting. It won't look as good as dynamic in all games, but pre-baked is much higher quality.

And considering developers on the consoles are scrambling for extra power it makes even more sense. :P

the only issue is prebaked lighting means no day/night cycles or destructable environments, because the lighting would have to adapt to those changes. But yes, in certain games, prebaked lights look great, like Mass Effect

Yeah, that's why so few games use pre-baked anymore because of the types of environments in games today.

I agree. It did look pretty good. Some areas were choppy and pop in was a problem but when the game looked good, it looked really good.

I also have to bring up Heavenly Sword. I still think that game holds up today.
