What are the top 10 video game Stories of all time?

In this game we discuss what are our top 10 gaming stories shall we?

heres what I think

1. Mafia (original)
2. Deus Ex
3. Max Payne Trilogy
4. Half life 2
5. Deus Ex Human Revolution
6. Metal Gear Solid 1
7. Riddick EFBB
8. Metro Trilogy (although Exodus has weaker story)
9. FEAR
10. Halo trilogy (even though gameplay is average but story is incredible journey)

So my friends, stories are subjectives and these are games i consider best stories in video games. I didnot put Doom there because I know it doesnot have much of story, didnot put many of my fav games but put games where i enjoy stories.

Forza Motorsport 1-7

What is the story of forza? who is main protagonist? what are his motives?

I generally think video game stories should keep things minimalist like the last three on my list, but the others are so good they make the cut anyway.

My favorite story is Kotor 2, specifically Kreia.

Kreia is separate from the Sith and Jedi and basically the Star Wars equivalent of an atheist trying to kill the will of god - where "The Force", dictates everything, killing billions for the sake of "balance".

I think she's by a country and a mile the best written female character in gaming and one of the best expanded (Legacy now) characters in Starwars.

If you follow Starwars it's basically designed in a loop with themes and ideas repeating over and over.

When the little boy says "I'll try spinning" and then goes "woahhhh", that's the force spinning, not him, he didn't come up with that trick.

Why are you assuming the protagonist is male, and why are you sexist?

The protagonist is the player, and his/her motive is to become the festival champion, such a deep story, it makes you cry, its makes you question the beginning of the human race, its so deep that you will question everything you know. Its to deep for you.

I mean you can't even list your top 10, its your top 16.

I’m gonna have to go with Titanfall 1. It’s a story about fighting robots and man.

As you might see, I like light stories, and like uncovering them with gameplay rather than being served.

RDR has pretty good story kinda shame its gameplay just suck. story was best part of RDR2 despite it was only good for rockstar standard.

Its one of those game where story put focus on first then gameplay last.

Fist bumps for Yakuza 0. It made me a fan. Currently played through up to Kiwami. Have Kiwami 2-6 downloaded, though, and plan on jumping back in once NaNoWriMo is over

@turtlethetaffer: Nice. I wish you luck if you plan on playing through all of them. Make sure to checkout Judgement, and if you have access to a PS3, Dead Souls too. If you're open to importing, there's also Kenzan and Ishin , with the latter being equally as good as Y0.

@davillain-: Dude are you trolling? The weakest Mass Effect in the trilogy in terms of story and no Horizon: Zero Dawn?

Most video game stories are garbage but there are some that stood out (not necessarily good but they stood out):

• Ico
• Knights of the Old Republic (mainly for the twist)
• Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time (just the first one in the trilogy)
• Odin Sphere (this might be my favorite story in video games)
• Nier: Automata
• Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (mainly for the lore)
• Chrono Trigger
• Eternal Darkness

FFVI would of been up there but I feel there are too many characters.

Hard to leave FFIX out but I wasn't a fan of that "other" final boss.
