3. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
2. Super Mario 3D World
1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
I have sunk over sixty hours into Breath of the Wild, and it still feels as refreshing as when I first started. I have only revealed about sixty percent of the map and completed two major dungeons.
1)Bloodborne
2)Horizon: Zero Dawn
3)The Witcher 3
Honorable mentions: Dark Souls 3 and Uncharted 4
This has been a really great generation IMO. There are a ton of games that are on the horizon (RDR2, TLoU2, GoW, Prey, Outlast II, etc) and a lot of games that are out that I haven't been able to play yet (Nioh, Zelda:BotW, Nier: Automata, etc). It's a great time to be a gamer.
1. Bloodborne - As much as I am enjoying Dark Souls III, especially its new DLC, I feel like Bloodborne is still the best game in the Souls series. Regardless of what people think is wrong with whichever Souls game or which Souls game is better, Bloodborne beats them all with its themes and its twist on using Lovecraftian horror. It was amazing to experience it. It seems like the Souls series was almost entirely set up just for this game. Perhaps not. But to me it's the pinnacle of all these games.
2. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - This game is surprisingly amazing. All its launch issues are virtually gone and its player base is growing fast. To me, this is the best shooter of the generation. While mechanical skill is a requirement to all FPS games to an extent, R6 Siege requires you to rather rely on the game knowledge ( sound, map layout, operators). Even if you have a ridiculous talent or insane reflexes it won't mean jack against a player who has more knowledge of the game than you do. It has insanely quick kill-times and is extremely unforgiving. I'd take this over CS GO any day.
3. Probably some MOBA I'm playing.
