Finshing Doom, ori and the blind forest and Forza Horizon then onto recore
The original Bioshock for PC isn't a great port and has some issues. Because the franchise has always been made for the Consoles rather than the PC. 9 years later nothing has changed it seems. The PC version was definitely an afterthought, the control scheme and ui made with console controller limits, a big issue the original Bioshock on PC has is the physics being locked to 30fps and needing a mod.
Bioshock played great on the PC. There are two separate interfaces tailored for the game, depending on whether the control scheme is a mouse/keyboard combo or a controller. The game controlled well with either UI although I still preferred the mouse/keyboard combo. If you need to switch control schemes, you have to restart the game.
I haven't seen the framerates locked to 30 whether on my desktop PC or laptop (screenshot). I was a latecomer to the game (2010). By then, there had been at least one patch for the PC. I had no technical issues with the game from start to finish.
Nah man I wanted to pk you
Yo what's your character name will pm you for a chat there
Gonna be real with you: I'm a dude. With a beard, not even the trimmed, well kept kind. Been bearding it up for a while now. And I'm in the furniture business, which means I don't have nice hair, like with hair spray.
In short, I don't look like this

Even with the mod it was a janky port iirc ... and now the remaster doesn't fix most of it and is in some terms actually even worse.
The comment about it playing better on gamepad.... I think that's also due to both original and remaster having the low FoV, awful mouse acceleration and the likes which they didn't fix at all and you still have to do the very same .ini file edits to achieve a playable result. The game, story itself is still good but the remaster is just a disappointing affair on PC, even if it's free. It just feels pointless. And it's good that it's a separate entry in Steam and not an actual patch to the original.

Bioshock had a really bad physics cap. The objects were locked at 30fps. The game can run in higher fps but 30FPS physics were extremely jarring and annoying, you couldn't escape those physics without some sort of mod. Bioshock 2 came out and still had the same issue.
BS1 and BS2 also have sound issues. When more than like 3 sounds play, all the others start getting cut out. Its a very widespread issues with the PC ports, and drivers do **** all. Both BS1 and BS2 require pretty specific sound cards(yes, fucking sound cards, the type of shit no one has needed to buy since like 1999 for there video games to work right, you get sound cards if you are an audiophile or do audio work.)
Nothing worse than an extremely atmospheric game being ruined because its atmosphere sound is being cut off every second.
I cannot believe it took this long to fix this. Still this pissed me off quite a bit, so kudos to the modder. Looks like people have gifted him copies of Bioshock 2 so hopefully he'll get that working too! Thanks for the work the devs could never be bothered to do. How hard could it have possibly been to, say, adjust the physics timestep with an in-game setting or something? What frustrated me the most was that the "feature" was in Bioshock 2, which came out years later, and was never fixed or otherwise prioritized. You'd think that they'd have the money and time to improve upon one of the most critically acclaimed games ever made that raked in the dough and awards like a child on Christmas, but no. Like always on PC we're second-class citizens and the community has to fix the problems they throw at us like the Dark Souls port or visual inconsistencies like this.
@Lucianu:
Your first go with FFXII?
It's a good game. Plenty of stuff to dislike about it of course, but overall I had a good time with it. I wasn't feeling it for the first stretch but it got its hooks in me eventually.
Surprised you didn't hold out for the remaster.
Replaying Dishonored on hardest difficulty without UI. Brilliant game despite minor flaws here and there and serviceable at best story and writing. Better than most AAA games of today imo
I usually like these kinds of threads, but tend to be reluctant to post pics. But since you're going to bug me for it, well...
I'm playing Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! Just felt like something mindless to take my mind of things. Below are my two main characters; both are currently level 49. I also have a Claptrap (Fragmented Fragtrap build) and an Aurelia. I have started a Jack and a Wilhelm, but I don't have a build idea for them yet.
Been revisiting Mount and Blade: Warband, trying the British ISLE mod and the Game of Thrones Mod, both are decent :).
Currently though I'm setting up an all-in-on home theatre with Kodi + Launch Box (google them...) nearly 8000 classic games and counting (granted, that includes every turd under the sun too.. will be doing house clearance) and access to anything possible to watch (legal under EU court) .. so been playing a few snes/sega games inbetween!
good times (not my screenshots.)
I thought you only play trash games, good to see that you also enjoy mount and blade.

For the record my misguided hermit brother, I do not play World of Warcraft, I just recognise how f*cked the genre is.
Also, now gearing up to play Divinity Original Sin Enhanced, ready for Original Sin 2 which is in early access now! good times! then Civilization 6 next month.
What are consoles for again?

Eh, I don't have, nor do I plan to get a PlayStation 4, so I might as well dive in. I'm in a Japanese role playing game mood at the moment, and I figured I might as well give this one a go, though another factor towards my playthrough is that Final Fantasy XII contains a few design aspects that inspired Xenoblade Chronicles, which is one of my favorite games ever.
I don't know what may I hit along the way, but my expectations are pretty much rock bottom because i'm not a Final Fantasy fan at all. I want to get this out of the way, and finish XII and IX, because most seem to regard these as the best and quite different from the others in the series. Maybe i'll like them, who knows.

Ohhh yeah, for some reason I thought it was already confirmed for PC lol. Yeah the PS4 has been little more than a Bloodborne box for me, so I feel ya.

Yup, FFXII is a huge departure from the series norms. The structure, gameplay, and even the feel of the story are all pretty unique for a main line FF title. Lots of devout FF fans hate it because of this, but I found it refreshing. Honestly I think it should have been the new direction for the series, but then they dropped FFXIII on us which was like 20 steps backwards.
FFIX is straight up textbook FF. It's like a collection of what made the classic FF games enjoyable, it has charm, it has simple gameplay systems, good music, and some interesting areas. If you're not a fan of older FF games then it may be a turn off, but I enjoyed it.

You can just play Dark Souls 3 on every other platform except Wii U, which of course has its own library of compelling AAAAEEEEIEIO exclusives! ^_^

I didn't play the older ones pre VI.. Out of the ones I played, that being FF VI, VII, VIII and X, I liked VI. VII had its moments, for sure, but the amount of endless filler content that brought the pace to a halt killed that game for me. VIII was straight up garbage, the plot made no sense. X had an abysmal level of writing all around, but this time, it also had a very poor ass English voice acting. The gameplay was nice though.
I don't know, i love all types of plots and whatever, hell, i'm planning to play the Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth series on PC because of how amazingly fresh and unique they apparently are. But Final Fantasy has never done a thing for me.
I'm on a positive note with FFXII up until now, because overall the quality seems to be in a whole different ballpark compared to FFX. Voice acting is nice, pleasantly surprised at that, the narrative had moments that disappointed me but .. well, i have no expectations for that, i'll hold on judgement until i'm at least half way through that.
Been playing Galaxy Force II on my 3DS. Really hard game, it's a lot of fun though. The music kind of sounds like Seinfeld.
Tomb Raider: Legend sucks too much. Throwing in the towel.
Going to play Star Trek: 25th Anniversary...
