How is the level of polish in the latest Lost Alpha version?
I played it years ago when it first launched and it had some amazing locations and I could see the potential but it was very broken at that time.
been kinda itching to play a Stalker game recently so maybe I'll give this a try. I already played through Shadow of Chernobyl 3 times and spent maybe 15 hours with Lost Alpha a number of years ago
on the other hand, might just wait for Metro Exodus to scratch that itch
The previous version I played (v1.4005) had some corrupted save files. In order to play them, I had to start a new game first and then load the corrupted save file. Of course, there's no way to find out if the save file is corrupted until I load it. If it's bad, then the game crashes to the desktop if I try to start the game directly off it
There were also some spots in v1.4005 where the game would look like it froze as new data is loaded. The game usually resumed after taking my fingers off the keyboard and waiting a few seconds.
With v1.4007, there's a lot less of the temporary freezing. So far, I haven't had a corrupted save file. It's probably because the game now launches from a configurator on the Windows desktop.
As far as other technical issues..... The only other issue I can think of is dead NPCs might block a door if they were killed on the opposite side and fell right by the door. If they fell on my side, I can simply drag the bodies away. No so if the bodies are at the other side of the door. I'd have to throw a grenade to clear them far enough from the door.
