What are you playing this weekend, SW?

I will be playing Watch Dogs: Legion. It's a pretty decent game actually. You can play as different characters who have their own abilities. It's fun roaming around and doing missions. Other than that, will probably play some Hades here and there. Have also been checking out Final Fantasy 12 on the Switch and will be downloading Monster Hunter Rise demo as well. And if I have some time, some Call of Duty Cold War.

I've started, but haven't gotten very far in Wolfenstein and Warhammer Chaosbane, so I'll check those out for sure.

I bought Tetris Effect and Pistol Whip for my Quest 2 over Christmas and not had chance to check them out yet, going to get stuck into both of those.

And some Forza 7 obviously.

Well, I've completed my third play-through of Horizon Zero Dawn this week. Cyberpunk 2077 stumbling out of the gates has sealed this as my favourite game I played in 2020. Congratulations, I suppose. Will I do a fourth play-through? It's... ...complicated. I'm just going to sum it up as "time will tell," and leave it at that.

While I wait for updates on the Cyberpunk situation, as well as continuing my Total Warhammer II campaigns, I'm digging into my winter sales haul, starting with A Plague Tale: Innocence. So far, it reminds me of The Last of Us. Except medieval. And French. So French, I decided to experimentally switch the spoken language to français for a little bit of... ...quel est le mot juste? Vivacité? Authenticité? Even managed to understand a few words without reading the subtitles.

Days Gone on PS5. That 4K/60 PS5 patch looks incredible.

If you want some games that take place in France:

I played through the entirety of Assassin's Creed Unity in French, it's set during the french resolution. The great thing is you can set subtitles as well as HUD to any language you want.

I only switched a few hours into the game, when it suddenly hit me like a stroke of genious. Really added to the authenticity.

Ok, I'm gonna stop now. Valorant hearts is another game that's set in France. I know because it's called "Soldats Inconnus : Mémoires de la Grande Guerre" in my steam library.

Finished Darksiders 3 so have moved on to Killzone Shadow fall. It's pretty bad lol. Reminds me of how poor "cinematic" shooters used to be back in the day. Open world with all its flaws is still better than that. But it's interesting to play just to study the design.

I'll be playing Death Stranding on PC from the sales I got and I will admit, the game is really beautiful on PC compare to PS4 version. Despite what SW say about the game, I for one never had issues with it. Its unique in its own way and I wish I had waited on PC before playing it on PS4 but hey, playing the waiting game is really hard to do lol. And I'll also be playing more of Cyberpunk 2077, nothing to say about it but I'm trying to get that game out of the way so I can play something else. Just those 2 games I'll be focusing this weekend.

I ended up buying NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered (PS4) yesterday. Found it at Target for $25. I enjoyed the hell out of it on PS3 and it's still a blast to play. The only game(s) left I want back from my PS3 collection (sold off my PS3 a few years ago) is the Mass Effect trilogy. Luckily for me it comes out this year.

Nice pick up on the Hot Pursuit Remastered. I ended up getting the Switch version and I love it. Funny story - I ordered it online, and it did not ship for several days. I thought there was an issue so I called and asked to cancel, which they did. But it ended up shipping like a day or two later and I got it for free lol.

Lmao, this literally just happened to me. I had ordered the original DOOM for Switch (which is actually kind of rare, had a limited print) from GameStop on Christmas. A week and a half later, no shipping updates. I'm like, ugh.. I call customer service and got a refund. Guess what? I just got a notification that it's shipping and delivery today. 😆

You know.. I totally did not think about that.

@SolidGame_basic Yea....the last couple missions on doom eternal were a NIGHTMARE lol After many hours on just the last two bosses alone, all I have left are multiplayer trophies.

Immortals:Fenyx rising. Might be Ubisoft open world game, but it eliminates all the grinding off the ass cred games and is in general just a great game and very surprised that it didn’t make more of a splash.

Really fun so far. Love the color pallet and the whimsical setting...

I like the concept too, but the writing between characters is cringe.

HZD made me feel like playing a "Peak BioWare" (in my opinion, BGII to ME2) game again - particularly Mass Effect 1, which you might find strange. In fact, it reminds me so strongly of ME1 it is the reason I'm so hyped for the remasters and the next game right now.

I do have AC: Unity on Uplay; a freebie after the Notre Dame fire. Haven't touched it, on account of me being kind of done with the franchise.

I've heard of Valiant Hearts. I listened to a video describing how it plays. I heard a comparison to Guitar Hero, and decided it wasn't for me.

More Animal Crossing: New Horizons of course. Probably some more Monster Hunter Rise and Bravely Default II demos as well. I’m also near the end of Yakuza: Like a Dragon so I’m hoping to finish that this weekend.

that's great! The biggest tip for learning a new language is practice practice practice. How come you know so many European languages?

I watch a lot of Louis De Funes movies so I can hear French being spoken, because on a day to day basis I never hear or use it so I would lose my mastery of it.

I never gave Mass Effect a fair shot, I should definitely give it another go when the remaster hits.

AC: Unity is such a beautiful setting and makes great use of its French voice actors.

Valiant Hearts is actually a 2D platformer, but most of all it's a very gripping and emotional story about a bunch of people affected by the Great war.

Guitar hero is DDR... That doesn't sound like the Valiant Hearts I played at all.

Finished Maneater. Grabbed it from PS+, glad I didn't pay for the game outright. 100% the game and platinumed in 10 hours.

Just started Batman: Arkham Knight.

Just finished up Control today. The game was decent, but weird as shit, which shouldn't surprise me I suppose. The Alan Wake mission was cool.

Hopefully some online Call of Duty Cold War and Spider Man: Miles Morales. I just beat the Cold War campaign on veteran mode which I was pretty stoked about, it was fun playing through it a second time.

Cyberpunk 2077. Might also play some PUBG and Phasmophobia with my friends.
