On my third play now, but this is my first time actually sitting through all the story bits.

Oh nice. Most would agree that's where the game starts proper. All facets of the game open up from there.

Agreed that it needs to ease the player in, but yeah could for sure be handled better.

Maybe a cold opening where the player gets a playable tease of what's to come? Though honestly, just pace it out better and probably be fine. Condense the first 8 to 10 hrs into something more like 2 or 3.

Yeah, i'm still very early. Only had access to the bike and starting to open up roadways (though I did this before).

TBH, gotta appreciate Kojima's world-building to some extent.

Kojima tends to handle the broader aspects well. So many times I'll think damn, just say less and this would be way cooler.

Never had covid, but can only assume a hot shower would help all the same. Always works for me when sick and chills come on.

Cup of hot tea is also nice if that's your thing.

I had covid this past Thanksgiving break and the chills were pretty bad for me. I was sweating even though my body felt cold and when I took a hot shower I still felt cold and the hot water kinda hurt.

Nobody should play Control without the Service Weapon mod. This second playthrough will be so much improved with the ability to instantly select any of the weapon modes with the number row, how this game should have been released. None of this two weapon console shite.

I'm playing Pokemon Scarlet. I'm a bit disappointed by it, so far. The technical problems are constant and I hate the fact that you have to make your own TMs. I don't regret buying it, though. It's still a good game.

God of War R. Can't tell if I liked the previous entry more. I'm still enjoying it regardless.

The original felt like a tiny budget indie game compared to Ragnarok.

Does anyone else have the infinite mob respawn in Ragnarok? Since yesterday, everything is respawning within 10sec of being killed, included bosses lol. Shit's unplayable.

Finally, finally managed to peel myself away from Total War: Warhammer III and Sisters of Twilight to start farming for Baruuk Prime in Warframe. But the last campaign play-through was a reminder of why I love my "Bolt Throwers," as I affectionately call them, so much. Between their reliance on diplomacy and inability to affect most of the map, anything can happen. Memorable things.

And so Katarin, who I rescued from imminent destruction and rebuilt into the 5th strongest power on the map, offered me, her Military Ally, 3,000 gold to declare war on Greasus Goldtooth. Normally, I'd tell her to keep the money and accept the demand for my own enjoyment. But not this time. I have a "hard ignore" policy on all Ogres; I don't make deals with them, I stay out of their way, I don't fight them unless they fight me first, and even then I keep them away from my forests and hope they make peace later.

Why? Because their amoral and mercenary ways means they make deals with absolutely anyone, including those that would end up pissing somebody off. So of course, Greasus somehow had an alliance with both Miao Ying, who's also my Defensive Ally, and Tretch Craventail, who Katarin hates. Katarin declares war on Tretch and Greasus, and must have noticed that I happened to have 6 (!) armies in the area; SoT tagging along with Katarin as she rampaged across the Dark Lands, 2 armies protecting The Haunted Forest, 2 Council Armies that had just arrived back home after stomping Kairos, and 1 in Cathay helping Miao Ying clear out the Lizardmen.

And so she demanded I crush Greasus. I thought about it for a minute, calculated that my standing with Miao Ying is strong enough that the damage to my relationship with her would be minimal, while a prolonged war between Katarin and Greasus would make her and Miao Ying hate each other, sighed, and took the 3,000 gold as a "break my policy fee." I then unleashed all 6 of my armies to make it as quick and painless for Greasus as possible. I squished him like a bug in just 4 turns.

I saw it as a sad inevitability of Greasus's bad deals and mercenary attitude. I did not enjoy a single moment of those 4 turns. But it was certainly memorable. Man, I love the Bolt Throwers so damn much.

God of War 2 is lame so far so now I’m playing Chained Echoes on game pass for now.

Don't be butthurt at me now what the hell. I took the gif, and showed you the reality you're not ready to accept. This game is so far away from being released that by the time it comes out, Elder Scrolls 6 will be around the corner.

In fact, i am already thinking of borrowing your Forza gif while adding "the only AAA franchise Microsoft still has". Let me know what you think about that, dude.

2022 was so piss poor for nintendo and ms that you feel indifferent for whatever happens at this point. I understand.

You know you're lying through your teeth when you've even said "maybe" when its Xbox related. I don't remember a single year being this bad for the Xbox ever since the release of the original box. During the rough days of the Xbone, it was still better game wise. What we got in 2022 is beyond pathetic. A new standard of a bad year has been reached, and the medal goes to Microsoft, a multi trillion dollars company that can't even support their flagship title.

And you say that i am silly to even mention Nintendo, but look at the broken garbage and games that run at 400p/20fps that we got this year. The quality of games were better than what's on offer from Microsoft, but when your system can't handle those titles, what good are they for? In 2017 you played at potato performances. In 2022, when using a Switch, you're playing at the worst performances the gaming industry has ever seen. If this is not a problem to you, then you're the one who's silly, very silly. Promise me to be less silly for the next year.

It feels like Nintendo has given up, but sell more than they ever have. So weird.

Their biggest games in 2022 was a broken Pokémon game, Splatoon 3 that could've just been a patch to 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, a slow MMO-like SP RPG with crappy character designs, Kirby that can be completed by a baby, Bayonetta 3 that doesn't work as it should on the hardware..

They're so fucking bad right now.

I know Xbox had a sh*t year... just like PS had last year. Unlike you, I'm not so much of a fanboy that I can't admit that.

And as for Nintendo, I knew you'd revert to the hardware. Because you know Switch had an awesome lineup this year and that's the only way you can bash them. "ok they had games, but they ran like sh*t on Switch so that automatically means it had a bad year".
