Starting to shake off my post-HFW open world burnout and putting proper hours into Hogwarts Legacy. And make no mistake, at the end of the day, it is a Ubisoft-style open world game with all the usual bits and pieces, just with a Harry Potter coat of paint.
Which is fine. As I said, there is nothing wrong with a default template genre, as long as you do something interesting on top of it. Certainly, I'm getting to fight more interesting things than dudes in armours, which was the whole reason I was completely done with Assassin's Creed games. Its whimsy British charm also carries it for me - especially through the quite frankly horrible broomstick flight controls. Why the flying somersaulting f*** did they separate up/down control to the right stick? Pissed me off so damn much during that one broomstick race sidequest.
Anyway, quick rant over. Back to game.
