Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Zelda U
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Persona 5
Fire Emblem Fates
Those are the top 5. I would have listed Mass Effect: Andromeda as well, but that's probably releasing early 2017.
How is Fates for you so far?
Been obsessively playing it for a week. Finished Birthright, 20 hours into Conquest.Thought Birthright was solid, but I was frankly a little let down, especially after what I was expecting, but Conquest is just amazing. It's what I expected the sequel to a game as awesome as Awakening to be. The gap in quality between those two is surprising. It's almost as if Birthright was just easing me into Fates and Conquest is now giving the full blown, proper experience.
So yeah, really enjoying it. Definite GOTY contender for me (still too early to say for sure, but it's pretty damn good).
Can you choose whether or not you want characters to die for good in Conquest or is it set on dead for good? I hate that the better experience is locked behind the version with the most suffering. >:l
:P
Yeah, permadeath is optional. Conquest is challenging enough even on Casual mode, so you're not going to loose too much in terms of quality. I'd recommend Hard + Casual, but if you go Classic, choose Normal difficulty.
Also, 20 hours in Conquest, and I can tell you one thing- it's challenging, sure, but it hardly ever feels unfair. That's why it's so enjoyable. I mean, I'm someone who hadn't even played Fire Emblem before Awakening (even now, Awakening, Birthright and Conquest are the only FE games I've ever played), but I'm still having way too much fun with Conquest. So it's not like you can't enjoy it if you're not a series veteran.
Gonna get the third version as soon as it launches in March too.
