It was made like a classic warfare movie blockbuster. There were no much twists and surprises; it's all-out action, and it was pretty well made using that concept. I mean, what do you expect? Drama? Thriller? It's an action game.IgGy621985
No just some personality with some of the characters. Hell Iv seen plenty of war movies that characters had interesting backgrounds and personality.
IMO the story was always going to suffer as soon as they left the WW2 setting, but the gameplay went up a notch so you cant really complainvilla4europe
Not saying its a bad game. Infact I love the MP,but just bugs me that some reviews say its a great dam story when its not.
Its no Half Life 2, but it wasnt bad, incredibly fun i thought, but yeah the flashback stuff was some of the best, id have been happy playing a full game as Capt Price, with loads of crazy missions through the decades.
Other than the level where you start off with the Sniper and you sneak around, it was pretty boring. I didn't even finish it but I know I am close. And I have no desire to complete it.

I agree, its the action movie of games, not a great plot, but a ton of fun, i enjoyed it
play it like you watch an action movie, for escapism, not for depth of plot
has anyone seen that documentary on the discovery channel "life after humans"?
they go to that city where the sniper level is based and show you round the theme park and tower blocks, its really creepy, fair play to the game devs it made the game look realyy authentic
just thought id add this seeing as seemingly like the majority i loved the sniper mission!
It wasn't fantastic, but the Pripyat flashback was fantastic and the ending was surprisingly hard hitting, especially with the lack of real character development. I have to give it props for not degenerating into typical right wing dogma that we see in the media these days.
THEM DERM TERRURIST ARE AT IT AGAIN, BEING ALL MUSLIMY AND TURBANY, BLOWIN' UP OUR BUILDINGS 'ND TAKIN' OUR JERBS.

I caught that as well. It was a fantastic documentary. There was a similar one on Nat Geo that recalled the entire meltdown and evacuation. They brought some of the evacuees into the zone and they revisited their old homes after being abandoned. It was some amazing stuff, especially the story of how the clean up crew gave their lives in a horrible fashion to prevented a global nuclear winter.
sucked. was too short, the enemies were generic to the extreme (terrorist hunts are lame), the plot left much to be desired, in the end it just felt like a joke seeing the same guy at the same age from all the other CoD's (for those who dont know, Cpt. Price was in CoD's 1 and 2, dont know about 3 cause i never played it).
MP was fun for awhile, then it got pretty boring when all you had to do was throw grenades randomly and run around with a P90.

when i saw captain price in COD4 i thought to myself. 'shouldn't he being in a wheelchair spouting senile murmurs at his grandchild about how he ****-slapped hitler?'
