What can Nintendo and Microsoft do to stop Sony this E3?

I'm not what you'd call a fan of Sony'r recent forrays into the market but i do share the opinion that they'll OWN E3. This isn't a matter of pride any more, this is a matter of survival. If the PS3 is to regain any ground this gen they will have to put on a MASSIVE show. To that end, expect the following announcements

• PSP Lite- Finally a crappy handheld gets slightly less crappy. Should keep the handheld alive for another few years at least and give those of us wanting to play the odd exclusive on the PSP a reason to buy one
• PS3 Price cut - In financial terms it could be a disaster. But will still be a good move in the long run as it will get PS3's into homes and provide one less advantage for the 360
• Moneyhatted Exclusives - reports from 1up/EGM suggest that Sony are moneyhatting NEW IP's from great companies. This is an incredibly smart move as moneyhatting big existing IP's is practically impossible (thanks to the PS3's small userbase and Microsofts deep pockets) and you are practically guranteed quality if a good enough team is making the game. The first examples of this are shining through as seen with LA Noir.

Do you think that there is anything that Nintendo or Microsoft can do to counter this?

All M$ has to do is show some Halo 3 footage of its single player or something

And all nintendo have to do is have a playable demo of SSBM

Nah, Nintendo knows non-gamers aren't gonna go to E3.They know E3 is hardcore gamer central. They'll show us games we've been waiting for:D

If Sony goes all out they will accidentally set their demo unit on fire, and announce 360 ports for every game on the PS3.ZinkOxide

Lmao, I entirly agree. And I really don't see them making a price cut right now, there already losing about $200 per console they manufacture.

Sony is probably going to have the least games to announce, considering the fact that developers don't like to develop for the console that is selling the worse. The question should be "What can Sony do to stop Nintendo and Microsoft?".

Here's what I think, what can Sony do to stop Nintendo and Microsoft.

1.)Nintendo is unleashing info on all their games, demo's, and titles we haven't heard yet. Nintendo likes to keep the lid shut and the anticipation adding up. Expect a bomb to go off. Matt Cassamina at IGN has been busting a nut over there because he said there's so much goodness coming.

2.)Microsoft is getting a lot of support right now, plus MS biggest app Halo 3 will push the show for them. Not only that, but there are always surprises, maybe a Gears 2 or something else, we'll see.

3.)Sony needs to bring something, something. I don't see a pricecut yet, Sony hasn't confirmed it, could we get one? Of course we could. But who cares. What I care about are some games, some support, something!!Forget the PSP, show some PS3 love.

Considering things like sony losing 3rd parties en masse, I'm betting on a repeat of last year.

Nintendo:

-reveal new info on the "Big Three," announce 2008's big games, let the third party companies that are there talk about their Wii games (hopefully some really good ones now that it's been about a year since the last E3, when more people started to take Nintendo more seriously), and announce a few 3rd party games from companies that couldn't show up

-Give more info on Halo 3, announce some new sequels and original RPs, andannounce more PS3 multi-plats

-just let Sony do what it did last year and push even more people into the comforting arms of Wii60

Imo, i think Nintendo will steal the show because of a huge amount of new games to be shown.
